YAMAHA's 08's In Winnipeg

Well Friday night at the Convention Centre the Whole klan of rides were there Ski Doo, Cat, Polaris and Yamaha. There were lots of very cool looking rides by all manufactures and there was lots of talk as usual. I love to wander around just listening in the other manufactures areas to the trash talk and hype. Believe it or not it was kinda quiet, most talk was about how far and fast Yamaha has come with the 4 stroke line up. The big talk was around the FX Nytro RTX ER & FX Nytro RTX 40th, lots of people really like the look of the APEX LTX GT 40th as well. My guess is Yamaha will not make enough of these Nytro's as these are going to sell out faster than the Phazer's did. I saw a lot of people wearing Doo clothing checking out the Nytro line up as well as Polaris people checking out all the Yamaha's. After the show was over and everbody was kicked out the tearing down begins for some but the visiting just starts for others

My buddy owns a Polaris Dealership so we got a chance to talk for a bit over the new Poo line up, they are all fired up on their 4 Stroke Turbo Model which uses their watercraft motor. It sounded like it puts out around 140hp with the turbo, It looks sharp now next season we will see just how it runs.


The boys over in the Yellow booth just had to BOO me when I went by as they were lookin to Razz me, I just laughed. I told them it was nice to see them out and that they have some real nice sleds for next season. I mentioned that their booth was ahead of Yamaha's, that be about the only time You'll Ever See A Doo Ahead Of A Yami. Of course they ALL BURST OUT LAUGHING, Doo does have a couple of nice looking sleds for next season. They had this VERY COOL motor cycle there with two wheels up front to steer it with, I forgot to take a pic of it as it was pretty cool.

Of course my buddies over at the GREEN / ORANGE side were bugging me as to when I'M COMING OVER, of course I told them when My 40 year old snow shoes finally wear out MAYBE THEN. They just laughed, a good bunch of guys even though they ride Cat. Their whole line up for 08 looks pretty darn good, as they have a couple of real nice looking sleds. Their 4 Stroke Line Up is just going to get better every year as well.


Nice to see every manufacture is making improvements to their sleds some more advanced than others. It will keep Yamaha on their toes if they wish to be a major player in the industry, I believe they are way ahead of the compitition in the 4 Stroke area. Now just keep striving to stay there and refine some of the grayer areas.

BTW; They had a one of their R&D sleds there, more of a Concept Sled as this will never go into production. But they have fun building these things.

* It has a LCD Navigation & Information Centre, with a Programmable Smart Key Ignition

* Carbon Fiber Everywhere, with HID Lighting

* Motor has Cams, Headwork, Ignition, Headers, Ram Air with Velocity Stacks.

* Tricked Seat & Bar Pad in Red Velour

* Trick Paint Job, I'm not sure if they were trying for A Chrome look or just a Mirror Silver. Still looks good though.
