hi all,
cant decide between the 2 piece yamaha assecory skid plates(front and rear) or the skinz float plate. possibly the float plate and yami rear plate if its needed.
what did you do and why?
I love the RPS carbon skid, but cant justify its 560 price!!
I plan on running the factory assy bumper that wraps all the way to a arms.

Factory. Need side coverage and the Skinz does not cover sides under chaincase and brake disc.

factory skids ordered in RED. hope i dont regret not going with black....

Sorry correct. Skinz does NOT cover sides. You made a good choice. I bought a Skinz before mangling left side. Now have factory.

We have both the factory rear skid with sport bumper and they provide very good protection up front. There are pictures of them on my album if you want to see how they wrap around. I agree with cannondale27 and that wrap around is important.

Thanks for making me feel good about ordering the Yamaha rear skid plate (SMA-8JP34-RR-BK). I also bought the sport front grab bar (SMA-8JPFT-BU-BK) which offers better protection than the front skid plate (SMA-8JP34-FR-BK).
I installed the sport grab bar last night on my 2015 Viper RTX DX but the rear skid plate is on order. Will I have to remove the sport front grab bar to install the rear skid plate?
I attached two pictures showing the sport front grab bar installed (You will notice that my hood is removed in the first picture because I wanted to see how it came off, not because it is required in order to mount the sport front grab bar)

You don't need to remove the sport bumper but you do need to loose up the bolt on the bottom to get the skid to slide in place. I installed them in the same order you're doing yours. Looking good man!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I can't wait to ride this thing! The trails are officially open here in MN but we need more snow! Bring it on!
