well its seems like all the cool kids are doing it so I'm stretching my 08 RTX out to a 136. My main goal of this build is to make a amazing all around sled, I want to be able to ditch bang, trail ride, drag and boondock. This sled will not be the best at any off those but it will do well at all of them. This is also step one of my turbo project, I will be putting on Ulmer Racing Stage 2 Pump Gas Turbo on next summer!!!

This is 2008 Nytro RTX w/Reverse
1300 miles

This is a photo of the sled before I started the build, I did some stuff to it last year. PCIII, Ign Module, 1.5 Intense, Slydog Race Skis and Powder Hounds, 5in RSI risor, Yoshimura RS-5 Exhaust, GYTR Bumper, White Skid plate and some color changes.

The new items I am adding on this build
White Slydog Powder Hounds are already installed
Arctic FX Graphics Custom XRTX
Ulmer Racing 136 Full Billet Rail Kit....still waiting!
Half Baked Powder Coating-White A-Arms/Black Spindles
OFT Relocator Kit

White Slydog Rear Boggies...getting rid of the YELLOW!!!

Avid 9T 2.52 Drivers

136 Camoplast 1.75in Fully Clipped BackCountry

RSI Handwarmers

First thing is first, the tear down, I was a unlucky and had to have my subframe replaced midwinter...damn trees, but it was all warrantied!

this is actually a drinking trophy/blender, I am part of the University of Wisconsin Platteville Clean Snowmobile Team. This trophy is awarded ever year to the school that can drink the most pitchers of beer in one hour. We were victories again this year. Myself, TKuss and yamahaboy701 are members of this organization!

IMG_0139.jpg

1.5 in Intense Track, I can only say good things about this track, the off trail performance of this track was amazing, I would highly recommend this to anyone with a 121!

IMG_0145.jpg

old stock drivers, I had a really bad problem with ratcheting last year, extroverts were a must for me.

IMG_0153.jpg

the next part of tear down was for the tunnel protectors to come out

IMG_0150.jpg

IMG_0151.jpg

IMG_0152.jpg

there are 6 sets of rivets holding the tunnel protectors in, the seat has to be removed to get the 4 rear sets out, to get the front 2 sets out the tank, and heat shield had to be removed, the right side rivets can be drilled out from the top, but the left side you have to drill from the bottom, the left cylinder pipe is directly over the rivets, so drill and pull!

IMG_0154.jpg

the turbo will go here!

I didnt weigh them but I figure they will help me drop roughly 20-30 pounds of ice this winter!

Tunnel Protectors out

the first part of my install is the OFT Racing Relocator kit, the fit and finish on this product is very impressive, Tkuss told me about this kit and helped me install.

the install was very straight forward, the only issue I may run into is the length of my cables, I have a 5 in risor with no cable extensions, this kit really moves the bars forward. I put my bars back on and really got a good feel for where I wanted them to be positioned. This should be really nice, I'm 6'3" and stand up alot!

I will have more one this build this week, any questions feel free to ask or any advice is always highly appreciated! Thanks :4STroke:

Edit
"I will be putting on Ulmer Racing Stage 2 Pump Gas Turbo on next summer!!! "

should say:

"I will be putting on Ulmer Racing Stage 2 Pump Gas Turbo after I lose a race to a F8, F7, another Nytro, 800r, or Apex"

Looks good, Should be a really nice sled with or without 240hp.

You should rotate the pic of the drinking trophy. That was a lot of hard work, Mich tech had 400lbs on us! I still can't believe we won that. You better defend the title!

Hey YamYboY,

Nice lookin' build!! Very well documented and should be a lot of help to others wanting to do the same or similar. ;)!
Were you with tkuss and yamahaboy701 at Haydays? Looked like a good group of Wisconsinites.....explains that trophy that you all earned. :drink:

Looks like the photographer had one too many when the picture was taken, so I sobered it up for you a little.

Anyways, keep up the awesome work. Thanks for posting all of the info.

Scott

To sum it up we (4 people, including myself) drank something like 17 pitchers in one hour to win. The winning team has to add to the trophy, we added the ski brakes and pipe in previous years. We have to add stuff for next year still. Contest has been going since 2004.

well I got my front end back tonight, special thanks to the guys at Half Baked Powder Coating, kinda nice I go to school only 10 miles away from those guys, here are some photos of the a-arms and spindles, these will be the last thing to go the sled!

thanks again brian!

well I finally had a little time to update my build, I have made a few changes since the last time I posted on here.

I got the Avid 9t 2.52 pitch drivers pressed on, and installed the new track

IMG_0205.jpg

I also got my front end put back together with the new paint, I was really impressed with how it looks.

IMG_0216.jpg

I also got my tunnel extension from Ulmer that will be installed this week. The rails are going to take a little longer to get.

IMG_0218.jpg

I also decided to go with the Dynojet Power Commander V and the Autotune. I sold my PCIII and Ignition Module

IMG_0220.jpg

the new track

IMG_0199.jpg

also had to cut out the heat exchanger protecters, I would advise you to use ear plugs for this, that tunnel can really echo!

IMG_0201.jpg

so other updates,
I'm going to be using the Team Yamaha Graphics From ArcticFX with custom number plates, those will be installed later once I get the sled mostly done.

I'm also looking for some advise on clutching and gearing. I'm not sure what I should do now with this set up.

SNO is Coming! :4STroke:

Looks good.
I would gear down a tooth on top. And leave the clutching alone for now and see how it runs, I bet you will be pretty close to the correct rpm this way.

I'm with you NO yellow, looks way better already. those powder hounds look way wider then mine, are they 7"? Mine measure 7" and dont look that wide.

Nice all around sled!
