Well I have been riding my current valving set up for 500 miles and I like what I have. The stutter bump issue is now comparable to a mono.
stock valve set up
compression
3---15x.203
6---30x.203
piston
rebound
3---26x.203
7---26x.152
1---15x.114
My set up
compression
3---15x.203
4---30x.203
piston
rebound
2---30x.203
1---1.094x.008
1---.994x.010
3---26x.203
7---26x.152
1---.895x.010
1---15x.114
The underlined stacks are in standard measurements as my calipers don't measure metric numbers very well. This works for me but I don't know if I would remove the compression stacks again. I will ride it like this as
I now am able to get my springs off the lowest settings without fear of being bucked off the seat. It could actually stand to have the rebound slowed down even more but it's pretty close right now

Any regrets since this last revalve? Does it do the bug bumps like before but also the stutter bumps much better? Thanks!

No regrets. The more I rode it the more I liked it. I ended up setting the springs on 5 and leaving it there. I will disassemble skid next fall. On a side note I bought an XTX late this year and am considering using my RX1 as a two-up. Or selling

Awesome I am thinking I may revalve mine to the specs you posted and try it out next year in my new apex.

Bringing this back up to see if there are any updates to your setups. Talked to Bruce at Pioneer this morning and he said he needed the shock specs. He didn't save any from the shocks he had done. Is he talking about the valvestacks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He's more likely talking about IFP height and what amount of pressure he should use. Betting if he has to he can wing it and you'll never notice any difference though. Just nice to have handy going into something new/different?

Thanks for reply. Any idea where i can find the specs he wants?

I have not revalved my shocks yet, will do after this season, or earlier if needed. Thanks for sharing the knowledge on valving. Keep the data coming on revalving and how the skid rides.

Hey guys, if I recall correctly, the G-force shocks are very close in valving and length to the Expert X. The obvious difference being the bottom out feature. The G uses straight rate 280 in/lb (5.0kg/mm) springs. Boivin told me some years ago that 280 springs could be used on the X, with improvement in performance in some areas, but more harshness is likely at lower speeds. So, in addition to adjusting the valving, the progressive 180/460 (3.2/8.2) springs used in the X might (?) work well for folks looking for better stutter performance.
