No, but the OEM is black and so is Ulmer's. The coil dia and length of Ulmer's is different. Track engagement, on jack stand, OEM 3500, Ulmer's 3000.

Got my spring from Ulmer. It does the job, no more wheely starts. Smooth like my wifes Polaris.

Check your belt closley for a flat spot on the sides of the belt. If the belt slips at engagement it can cause a narrow spot and that will clunk.

I wonder as mentioned above if it might be the hard rubber compound of the OEM Yamaha belt. I have used the Dayco/Carlisle Ultimax belts in the past, but not on my Yamaha's.

Interesting. My '10 ltx doesn't engage too soon, but it is very harsh, always has been, making it hard to do a feather engagement, very jerky and could be dangerous if not expecting it.

I agree on the Vector especially the LTX. However my Apex, unlike others say, takes the Vector start to finish, both stock.

You can't compare an Apex to a Vector for acel or top speed. My Apex does 125/115 Vs Vector 105/99 speedo VS GPS. The Apex blows away the Vector all through the range. Both are show room stock.The Vector and my 600 Polaris 600 ltx are very comparable, bottom to top.
