I currently have a 2009 Vector GT and have a chance to upgrade to a 2010 Vector LTX. Only concern is the weight and longer track. Obviously Yamahas are already on the heavy side and worried the longer track model would be even heavier. When I look up Yamahas specs for dry weight they just say...
When you set the high beams at normal level do you have issues when its snowing? When I use my high beams during snow all I see is the snow. Is that because they are currently aimed to high?
Has anyone used the power madd guards with the fold out mirror. I would assume they would not be as good as full mount mirrors but seemed like you could at least see headlights behind. I was just concerned about too much vibration.
I put on the Bergstrom Skegs and would recommend. I had problems getting a hold of them (one man show) but once I received them I would not choose another.
Hello cat - I have an 09 Vector GT purchased new this year. Only one ride so far it it handled pretty good without any adjustments except 8" Bergstrums. Did have a little inside ski lift. Would like to adjust to your specs and then tune from there. Did you think your specs are good for an 09?
A friend has the same sled and also bought it used about a year ago. He kept throwing belts. Took it into service and there was some type of bearing problem. Have no idea what it is but if it keeps happening have someone check for it.
I've nver adjusted the headlight on my Vector but I did previously on my Phazer. I looked in my Vector owners manual and its the same. You have to take the top cover off and then there will be a screw under the headlamp. I beleive you turn the screw to the right for lower and left for higher...
I do understand that best case is to trailer 1/2 or less but as Groomerdriver stated, sometimes you are not sure if gas will be available at the destination. Groomeddriver I am assuming you have never had any problems since you have the shutoffs. Why 2 shutoffs? I only have experience from an...
I have a buddy who has an 2005 RX-1 and sometimes he has difficulty starting his sled after trailering. He was told that it was fuel filling into the crankcase from the bouncing of the trailer. He was told he could add a shut off in the fuel line to help prevent. My previous Phazer was fuel...
Sorry to hear about your sled. I had a phazer that I ran into a train track under the snow. Bent both a-arms and a few other things. Had everything replaced and the sled ran as good as new. Hopefully your will also.
Hey metallicat - I see you went with the mid high wind shield. How is that for blocking wind? Are you satisfied or recommend the high shield? Any one else have recomendations? Don't want to look to dorky but also don't like the wind hitting me.
Again I paid $7,950 but I think most of the 09's are drying up. I have seen a few now for $8,000 + tax. I guess it depends how quick you want to move it. I would suggest $7,500 and see what happens. Everyone trys to get you down anyways. Good Luck
Just wanted some opinions. I have read some feedback on the ulmers clutches. Spoke to someone experienced with cluthcing and he said the 09 Vectors are clutched pretty good stock and that I would not get much out of re-clutching. opinions or other performance ideas without adding turbo.
I see that two inches does not require lengthening cables. What about 3 inches. I am 6'1, 225# and radiantguy suggested the 3 inches. Has anyone used the 3 inch risers. Thanks
