My 2007 FX makes the same loud humming noise. I have 1500 miles on it and still have the original sliders. All I can say is that it is loud, its going to make me lose my hearing!!! The only thing I can think of is that it is the sound of the idler wheels spinning since the sliders are just...
I don't think there will ever be a recall. Even though there seems to be a large number of failures on these forums, it still seems to be a small percent of the entire fleet according to Yamaha.
Just put another 400 miles on my FX over the last 4 days. Anyone else notice a loud howling noise? It gets so loud sometimes it hurts the ears! Sounds like the track. I have been running my track loose, so I tightened it up, that seems to have helped, but the noise is still there. Just...
It could be the guys that buy the FX are just more likely to push it harder in the bumps, therefore the FX may be seeing more failures. Just a thought.
How far your guys letting your sliders wear before replacing them? I got around 1000 miles on my FX and the hyfax looks like new except around the bend in front of the wheels, I got about 5mm left before it wears to the line. You guys wait right unitl it gets to the line? It seems to have...
Mike D. 29 years old, 2007 Phazer FX, I ride all over New Hampshire. My riding group is six of my friends all with Ski-doo Revs. I'm an customer service manager in the aerospace industry. You think sleds have problems, buy yourself and airplane! I have around 1000 miles on my sled and no...
Has anyone noticed when you pull real hard on the brake lever, the brake light goes out. My brake light comes on when I pull the lever, but when I pull real hard the brake light turns off. Bad switch?
Is everyone who has issues with the link failing getting the updated kit, or are they trying to give you a new old part? I also wonder how Yamaha will treat this once the sleds go out of warranty?
Theres no recall for the fan, I have an 07 FX and have had no problems with overheating. Just rember since this no fan, if you stop for a long while it will overheat. As with the other FX issues, remeber all the problems get posted on the web, so just because a couple people have issues...
I'm in Manchester, NH. I love the sled, been very happy with it. I'm just don't want to break that darn link and have to be towed. Im not a super bump rider or jumper so hopefully mine will hold up. Dealer in concord said they haven't seen any issues with the link yet.
Mike
Put about 100 NH miles on my FX today in New Hampshire, about 10 inches of powder on top of hard pack. Sometimes I wonder if I have the same sled as everyone else here, mine has never worn out sliders, never warped a wheel, only seen the overheat light when idling for a long time (to be...
My local dealer who took part in the tech update meetings indicated that very few dealers had any complaints about the link breaking. Dealer said that not one phazer that they sold was returned with a broken link, and they sold a lot of them. There is a kit available if you do a lot of...
Where in the owners manual or service manual does it say to add oil directly to the engine? I read the owners manual and service manual that you add 1.5L to tank, run engine, then add to full mark. I though the cap on the engine was to let oil drain from the crank case easier.
Took my FX in for the recalls and also asked the dealer about the "link" . He indicated at the Yamaha Tech update meetings there were hardly any complaints about the link. He went on to say that those that did break were jumping or ridding bumps all day all the time. The solution Yamaha is...
Weird how it doesn't seem to break on the the standard and the GT.
Does anyone know if the '08 billet part is a bolt on replacement with the existing hardware?
Thanks!
