I have a 2007 FX and I have both the front and rear holes closed off and have never had any icing issues or other issues because of the closed off holes. I am running the stock 1" track. The only thing that was recommend was to modify the front deflector plate by cutting the sides off by about...
AKRider...I have a 2007 Phazer FX and the exhaust runs completely above the tunnel. I have both the front and back holes in the tunnel closed off and experience no more ice build up than any other sled in our group.
Even though I changed 2 variables BombaPolaYama the result is what I was I interested in and with a 105 miles on this weekend, some in some marginal snow, with the marginal snow wheels and DuPont slides I had no slide wear! Exactly what I hoped for ;)!
The phazer has an anti-knock sensor on it so if by chance pre-ignition were occurring from too low of octane the ECU would automatically retard the timing to limit pre-ignition and in doing so limit performance and save the engine. I've run 87 in mine with no problems.
I am going for a ride this weekend with new DuPont slides and the marginal snow wheel kit just installed. Hopefully the results will be good! If you want to reduce friction consider fully clipping the track. I did last season and it really helped.
I've got a buddy that lives just south of Westfield in Columbia co and he said they are opening the trails in Columbia co at noon on Saturday but will be ungroomed and drifted pretty bad. Hope this helps
The metal insert that the screw threads into probably separated from the rubber insert. You can see if it will just pull out, maybe? or if it doesn't pull out easy you can try and drill the head of the screw off. Just hold the outer edge of the screw with a needle nose and take a sharp drill bit...
Have you had the air box off recently? If so I would check the vent hoses going to the air box for being disconnected. Also maybe try a new set of spark plugs?
Yes that is the easiest. Pull the seat off and rivet the tunnel protectors on with the rivet from the top down. If you try and rivet it from the bottom up you will have to pull the skid out and then you will also have the collapsible part of the rivet on the top of your tunnel which wouldn't...
The screw is threaded into a rubber expanding nut which expands when you tighten the screw down. Try pulling out on the windshield enough that you can try and grab the rubber with a needle nose pliers and see if that works. Otherwise you might just have to cut the screw off and push what's left...
If it makes you feel any better I just went thru the same dilemma with a brand new aftermarket coil for my lawn tractor. Brand new and it was junk. It really makes you want to pull your hair when you buy a new part and it already bad. Note to everyone, buy oem coils whether its a snowmobile or a...
I would try a new battery first and hopefully with a new battery the gauges start working again. The stator probably couldn't keep up running the lights, engine and accessories if the battery wasn't holding any charge at all.
When I had my dealer check the VIN number he said the wiring harness update had been done and the starter had been checked over which from my understanding was an update not a recall so I think they can check if the updates have been done.
An easy way to see if the factory updates are done is to get the vin number off the sled and give your Yamaha dealer the number and they should be able to look up if the updates were done by a dealer at least. That's what I did before I bought my 2007 Phazer.
You can also get them at Fastenal. They are exactly the same as the OEM rivets with a steel body and a steel mandrel. They are only about 30 cents apiece and you can get as many or as few as you want. The Fastenal part number is 0125951. I hope this helps.
