Low power, backfiring, dim lights, gauge cluster not working

'Borrowed' a statement from another.... "ok. on the older rx sleds there was a spot in the nose where it would rub under the glove box/beer holder in the nose. it would rub through on one of the front bumper braces the right side. i covered the hole in the brace on mine with a slit peice of...

    Starting problems

Also, if it sat for the summer and you haven't done anything else, clean your carbs, especially the slow speed jets! They will be gummed up with the 'classy' fuel we get today. At the very least, do a search for threads on 'priming RX1' as there are some tricks to getting fuel to your carbs...

    My On Trailer Summer Storage

My advice would be to get a box of Dryer static sheets(Bounce) and stuff them everywhere! Do yourself a favor beforehand... the mice nesting and squirrel nut storage, chewed wires, etc. They're unbelievable when they find a snowmobile!!!

    Those Who Have Swapped Suspensions

I purchased a 03 RX1 last year with just 7000Kms to replace a 2nd sled. After exhaustive research I swapped in a Cat T660 skid(almost new) that came with the Rebuild-able Fox shocks! Never rode the no-action skid, but sold it for more than the Cat skid! Very happy with the way things turned out...

Looking for advice, RX1 steaming Coolant

Guys, thanks for your replies....! Fortunately, it was 'Operator Error'.! This is what I concluded. When put away 2 weeks ago, the machine was hot. I can only suggest the coolant overflow burped..., and, because the drain hose wasn't where it was supposed to be, it sprayed all over. Worse, we...

Looking for advice, RX1 steaming Coolant

I have an 03RX1 that I started up today and is steaming from what I believe is either the 'engine' forward side of the front heat exchanger, or the exhaust area. Heat exchanger has no dings/stud marks , etc. Clean & dry. I've checked all of the hoses numerous times, done 2 compression tests...

    Reverse buzzer

Just a guess, maybe the buzzer 'switch' was frozen, and not returning the plunger. You're moving/activating the linkage must have freed it up some.

This Frigging Weather has Got Me Down!

Guys, thanks for all the info... Unfortunately, The Trails are STILL NOT OPEN at my cottage area north of Gatineau. I've written the Pres of the local association, he's getting a lot of heat! I'm still doing a daily monitor of all of Quebec trail system. There seems to be only a handful of areas...

    Lessons learned

Heheh! late Sixties, riding my 'rocket ship Super Olympic' along railway tracks to cross a small river. Apparently the railroad installs secondary tracks(supposively preventing derails) over bridges just a touch narrower than the Bombi ski track! You guessed it, the machine locked on the rails...

    hard warm idle stalls

Jocelyn, sometimes it's the most simple things.... Have you tried loosening the gas cap??? Perhaps the vent hose to your gas tank is pinched? That would allow it to start fine, warm up, but then not be able to supply enough gas and run on lean/less cylinders. Maybe have your mechanic fit a...
