Go with the billet adjusters as others have said here, but you may just want to ride it first with the stock springs and adjusters. I'm about 235-240ish lbs without gear and I rode my XTX 137 Winder last year without any bottoming issues at all. Stock adjusters were set in middle position. I...
The NY reg number stickers are the same size as the PA numbers. I put my NY stickers at the bottom of the side panels at the same angle as the stripes are on the decals. Without then reflecting (like they did from my camera flash) at quick glance they're almost unnoticeable. My dealer and I...
[QUOT me meE="AXR, post: 1315550, member: 7415"]Does anyone have a copy of that image of the sled with all the arrows pointing to all the features of it? The linked ones Mr. Sled posted from Yamaha's FB are deleted. Yamaha trying to cover their @$$es?
Trust me, their assess are covered when...
From one Mopar guy to another (I own a 69 Charger, a 10 Challenger, a 15 Charger, and a 14 Ram) I will tell you that I am mildly impressed with the quality of the AC built Yamahas. I have a 14 Viper which was off course the first of the breed and in 6600 miles the sled has given me no problems...
Jeez, I can't believe that Yamaha themselves wouldn't be jumping at the opportunity to buy AC. It would certainly give them more North American manufacturing capacity for sleds and wheelers. It would also probably preserve jobs in Minnesota. Then again what am I thinking, big corporations...
One reason, just like my 4 previous Yamaha 4 strokes no matter how hard you push it and as long as it's got oil and antifreeze in it the motor will never die. Really there are many reasons but you just can't go wrong with 13 consecutive seasons and over 30,000 miles (all machines total) and all...
Apparently I'm in a little bit of a minority by ordering a red and white XTX LE 137. I just liked the color, taller bars, and the 1 3/4" track. I know the taller track will compromise speed but I'm not a lake racer, I'm all about corner to corner acceleration and grip and feel this track will...
The strip at the top of the headlight is strictly for looks. It lights up when the key is on or sled is running. There are LED low beam and high beam headlights that come on when the engine is running that are separate from the strip. I have seen these headlights on at night and they are...
This has been verified by a post on this site from a dealer as well as my own dealer Don Georges in Clarence NY as being a misprint in the spring LE brochure. The XTX 137LE will have the 42-43" ski stance like the LTX and the Yamaha website states.
Yea, you definitely have a Viper with Sidewinder bodywork attached to it in that photo. Most likely because the photos needed to go to print in the brochures before they could build enough prototype sleds. They did the same thing with the Viper when they released it in the spring of '14...
I'm not sure either about the diff in ride between the 2 shock types. I'm gonna say definitely a difference but probably not earth shattering. The Kashimas apparently are adjustable in both compression and rebound where the QS3's are adjustable only in compression. That's prob the biggest...
My '14 Viper and I'm sure the '17 Sidewinder are 100 times better sleds than the Nytro. The AC Procross chassis is by far the best thing Yamaha ever did to their 4 stroke sled program. The front suspension on them is excellent right out of the box with none of the bad ski lift traits of the...
The 1.75" Camoplast backcountry track. I've discussed the use of this track with a few others that ride in similar conditions like I do (mix of powder and hardpack trails...lake effect snow areas of NY), and they cant say enough good things about it. We feel that with the power of this sled...
Sidewinder XTX 137 LE is being added to my fleet which includes '14 Viper LTX SE, '11 Nytro XTX, and '03 RX1. I love my Viper and have close to 7000 mi on it. Nice to have a newer back up sled in garage just in case, also like to switch up every so often so I don't put all the mileage on one...
That's kind of what I was thinking with the engine this powerful. That extra lug height will prob be a good combination with powertrain. I'm really not an absolute top speed freak so if there is any mph lost due to deeper lug track that is fine with me. I also do like the #*$&@ end to slide...
I really like the spring only XTX 137 LE, but I have a few questions. First the website says the front ski stance is 42-43" but the brochure that I got last night at the show says ski stance is 40-42" adjustable. Looks like the same spindles and A-arms as LTX and RTX's so which is it? Next...
