Friends 06 Attak keeps overheating. Running on perfect trails with 3 inches of powder. Yellow overheat light goes on every 10 miles. When we tipped the sled on its side, the front heat exchanger would have slushy snow blocking it. Sometimes it would be clean though. We checked the radiator and overflow and they were full. Anything we should look for? Sensors? I'll check to see that it's not air locked first by bleeding it. Anything else you guys can suggest to look for would be appreciated.

Install a rear heat exchanger. My 2007 attak gt did the same thing until I installed one. Didn't overheat since.

If your going to keep the sled start off with a rear cooler. Easy to install. You'd need it anyway even if it was a thermostat or something else causing the problem. A rear cooler is often talked about here and it's a given it's the best way to go.

So is the thermostat something to replace? Not sure he wants to go the rear heat exchanger route yet. I've owned an 06 Attak and hardly ever overheated. His has always overheated more than mine but every 10 miles? In fresh snow? Seems to me that something else is causing this. the 2 07 Apex's with us were fine.

You have an air lock or a bad thermolstat. I would not continue to drive until you fix it.

X2, maybe add some vents to it. To let out hot air.

Sounds good. I'll order a thermostat. Thanks for the replies!

I over heat a lot on my 06. I might even pull the thermostat and run without one. Any problem with that?

These sleds run on the edge of hot all the time. Install a rear heat exchanger and your problem WILL be solved.
