I need a setup for a 5'6", 140 man on an 06 Nytro. Buddy bought new and does not have any sleddin experience. He likes my SRX b/c it's low, fast, and handles. Can the Nytro be lowered? Dealership says lowest setting for suspension is 160/180. Is this correct? He gets on the thing and jumps up and down w/no movement or sag. Any help is appreciated.

The torsion cams are for height adjustment and can be set at the lowest setting. You could add more weight transfer to delay coupling. However, the Nytro is a completely different sled than the SRX, and I wouldn't try to make the thing into one as it is not designed to sit low like the old ProAction skids. Just my opinion, but I'd make it handle best you can for what it is. I thought riders are usually after more travel, not less?
My '06 Nytro handles much more like my old '97 SX then the '02 Viper I had, i.e it sticks to the trails. Get a good set of skis, pull up on the limiter strap, and back off on the transfer. He'll also want to have the shocks revalved.

lower pressure in front shocks to get a arms as horizontal as possible while maintaining a good ride will aid in handling...also a thicker aftermarket swaybar will flatten cornering

As mentioned above, get the front end down so the a-arms are parallel and get rid of the weight transfer. Suck up the limiter by one hole as well. No real need to change out the skis, just get some good carbides on them.

Wow. You guys really get your sleds to handle like the old SX's? My last sled was a '98 600sx and it cornered like it was on rails. This 4 stroker has a lot different weight distribution and I have it set up the way I like it but it is nothing like the sx. Have to work at it a little more and realize that some ski lift is inherent and use it to my advantage.
MUCH better ride though. I'd never trade back.

thanks for the input guys. More travel or not, he is so light that he feels the suspension is beating him up. But w/that being said he has only put 160 miles on it. Probably not the right sled for him, but I appreciate the suggestions. Not trying to make like the SRX, just more compliant for him. Personally I love his sled. But I'm 6'4", 260... he's a p_ssy. ha ha!

The nytro rear skid is stiff since it's more of an aggressive bump sled. I'm probably 155 with gear and I have the rear skid set as soft as possible and it's still stiff but that's the nature of the beast. If a softer ride is wanted, a vector would be better.

I'm 6'0, 250 lbs. On my '06 Nytro, I've got my rear suspension cranked all the way up and the strap is stock and it's perfect for me. My problem is the front. After 5-10 minutes of riding, my forearms feel like they're about to fall off. After a few different set ups with the Fox Floaters, I found that dropping the pressure to about 50 lbs was the only way I didn't feel like I was trying to steer a bus with a frisbee. I put a set of duellies on it a couple of days ago, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. It's been -35 to -40 celcius here for the past little while. It's supposed to go up to -24 celcius tomorrow, so hopefully I'll find out. I'm considering letting the strap out 1 notch to remove some ski pressure. I'm not sure yet, I may just try it with the duel carbides first.
