Hey guys I posted int he airbox section, but it seems to be more for the RX sleds than the Apex. I have talked to a bunch of guys on mods and I wanted to see what you guys are using. A friend of mine is running the individual filters, but I havent heard anything good about that setup from anyone except him. I have seen some bottom airbox mods and top ram air mods. I dont mind the sound, so which one will give me best performance for my $$$$. I talked to Tim from Fix motorsports he seemed very knowledgeable and very good to talk to anyone have good luck with them?

I have the Fix...air box and beleive it works great ...I DID see a difference in my sled when it was added 2 years ago..I have added many things since then - so now i like the combo i aim running.. If you do go that way===PM me and i can give you some upgrades for the install...I have never had a problem with it ...( only the way it came ) With alittle redoing it is great.........( onless they have changed it from 2 years ago )...this is just my opinion.......

i used k&n's on my old rx-1 and i didnt like them, it seemed like the more runs i made the slower i went, the only thing i came up with is too much under hood temp which the airbox didnt seem to mind. ulmers air box works great and if you want to know how loud a fix lid is just crack the front of the air box open about an 1 or 2 inches and crack the throttle while its on a stand, i think you will be supprised how loud it gets.

I just installed my gyt-r-dun air filters on my new LTX GT. I had an old airbox lid that I cut all of it away except the center out to the rib that seals on the hood. I added 2 pieces of coat hanger to the rubber air box strap in the front and put a bolt through it and through the front of the air box lid with a wing nut. I then cut vents into the top of the lid and put mesh covers over it.
I can now access the front of the motor for an oil change without tearing off the dash pod. the sound is wicked and without the air box I have a large area in the front that I am going to mount a storage bag into to carry spare goggles and parts. I will post pics when I get back to Minnesota next week.

Wouldn't that void your waranty?
I was thinking about cutting out the airbox lid/top all around up to the seals where it connects with the hood also just to make it louder/sound better, but are there any other ways to easy/cheaply make it louder, such as taking something out of the exhaust or other? But i am worried if i cut out parts of the airbox it will get too much dirt/snow in it or i will void my waranty? Thanks
