Changed oil to get ready to ride. It starts and runs for 30 seconds then stops with code 30. Code 30 is drop in oil pressure. I checked all connections (oil pressure and tank) and all appear ok. I tried pulling a line off the T to the oil tank and blowing into oil tank (several times) and still get the code 30. I understand that it may be air locked but I don't know what else to try. :o|

You have an air bubble some where.
Put it on a stand so you can hit the throttle to run it at a higher RPM.
Start it and hit the throttle emediatly. If it truly has no oil pressure it will not let it run.
I didn't look, I assume it's an Apex?

I tried revving it up and it still shuts down. I also started it and pulled the small return line to the oil tank off, did not get any oil. I do get oil out of that line if I blow into the tank. Sounds like an expansive fix is coming. :o|

Yes it is an Apex 2007. I love the sled but am getting frustrated. I ran it at about 6000 rpm when I revved it up.

Tip the sled so the tank side is up, put some block's under the tank side ski 8-10" and let it set over night.
Then try again. I can't believe you have a serious issue from oil change.

I cant believe it either. I will try that and see what happens. Wish me luck.

You can also take your dip stick out and watch with a flash light in the tank to see if it is returning oil, should see movement in the tank.
Also try pouring some oil in through the valve cover to prime the return pump. I have never had this problem form a simple oil change but I have heard of it.
And yes, Good luck!

Well just tried what you said and still getting error code 30. I even tried blowing into tank while it was running. I did not see anything moving in tank with it running either. Put some oil in the top end also. Anybody want to buy a Apex or trade? :o|

Wow! Never heard of anything like that from a simple oil change!
Maybe someone else has an idea?
It should have at least returned the oil you put in the motor?

Just a few things to check. Does the oil change require you to unplug the oil pressure sensor? I need to unplug mine on on phazer to give me room to get to the filter.

Have you tried removing the oil bleeder screw to see if oil will come out.

Other then that make sure the pump is working, if no oil comes out of the bleeder screw I would not run it until you find the problem.

You don't need to remove that. I am starting to wonder if it may be a bad sensor and how to test it.

Could be but you said you have no oil returning? You can take return hose off and put it in a can to make sure of oil return. If it is returning oil than I would check censor. Yamaha dealer should have check procedure and spec.

Just had a thought. Do you think it would make a difference if I drained the oil and refilled from the top end instead of the tank?

You didn't put oil in the tank?
If not yes that would do it, the pump pull's oil from the tank. Now you may have an air lock.
Drain everything, put two quart's in the tank, prop tank side up like I said earlier, let sit over night, maybe try a quart in the top end again if you think the oil in the motor you put in earlier came out. And give it a try. Run it good than shut it off and check oil.
Read your owner's manual for changing oil and also proper checking procedure.
This is a dry sump oiling system and requires different changing and checking procedures.

Did u change the filter when you did the oil change? If u did the filter could possibly be bad and plugged, I have seen this before on a fram car filter. Just a thought.
