07 phazer starting problem

My 07 phazer cranked over slow last week, I stopped for about 2 hours and went back to start it and it cranked slow till the battery was dead. I tried to jump it and cranked slowly then a puff of smoke came out of engine department and it smelled electrical. Now when I try to start it power only goes to the relay. I have recharged battery. I'm not sure where the starter is located. Any ideas...

Did you have the bolts on the starter locktited?

The electrical smell does not sound good, how long where you cranking it over for?

I've never had it off so I'm not sure

Then they probably backed out and the starter came out of alignment. It was a problem with the 07's the fix is to follow the steps in that link i posted.

Not sure about the smoke you might have burnt something if you where turning it over too long.
