Have searched the threads but cannot find the definitive answer ... will the new / latest version of the ball joints fit in the 2008 arms?
On last run of the season, the ball joints actually wore through the top of the retainer and the A arms bottomed out on the spindles and destroyed them. The ball portion of the joint is out of the arm freely but does / can the "race" be removed (dremil with cutting disk) or does it have to be machined to accept newer style ball joints (parts fiche shows the ball only without a race)?
Answers would be appreciated.

The new version nytro ball joint will fit a 2008 but will will need the two collars to space the ball joint. The 2008 replacement ball joints also have been updated and don't require the collars. I replaced them in my 08 Nytro with the new version last season.

New Version #

Ball Joint (qty 2): 8HK-23579-00-00

Collar (qty 4): 8HK-23754-00-00

2008 updated ball joint (no collar required): 8GK-23579-01-00

Thanks for the reply ... did you have to cut the race for the old ball joint out ... there's not enough of an edge left on the old one to press against.

I had that happen on the project Phazer FX we're working on. Got the races out of the a-arms by using a large sharp chisel punch and BFH. Don't forget to take out the circlip first!

I just got some for the Phazer which I thought were same as Nytro:

8GK-23579-01

No collars needed I assume these are the newest joints?

Moose are the collars you are talking about the washers on both sides the joint on spindle?
