I have a phazer that quit on me, I have since brought home and changed the fuel pump relay, I can hear the relay clicking and when the sled hasn't been run for abit, it will start. But then after about 1-2 minutes it will quit.
The old relay was clicking the same as the new one, so I assume that the old relay is fine. Would anyone have any suggestions.. (fuel pump itself gone)??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

any codes? maybe bad/old fuel but don't think thats the case.
i guess you can pull the seat & listen to see if the pump shuts off when running.
do you have any risers on the sled that may be tripping something?

Could it have gasline freeze?

I did put a 2" riser handle bar on, with new style factory updated handwarmers. Also showing code 81, which is hand warmer code. Checked all wiring along oil tank side for damage or rubbed wires, all is fine. It does show the yellow light on left side of pod. so could that just be bad fuel?

Fuel pump in our went last year, but it just died goin along, no running at all. Are you sure its not just shutting down due to heat? The engine while idling will shut off if it reaches a certain temp. I'm sure in a heated garage it doesn't take long to get to it. You should have the the warning light come on first then if you don't shut it off soon it will shut it self down.

That is actually what had happened. We were out on a ride and about 20 miles in to the ride, it just quit. I was able to get it restarted, but just quit again. Now actually in garage, the fuel pump wont even engage. Like i said before, I can hear relay clicking, but now no fuel pump at all. Is there a test on fuel pump itself that I can do to see if this is the problem? I know how to go into diag mode on the pod, is there away to activate the fuel pump in this mode. tks for the help.

Not heat related though, more of the thoughts of fuel pump itself. Just thought i should clarify. Tks
You could just remove the factory plug from it and put 12 volts from a battery to it to eliminate possibility of anything in harness being bad.If pump doesnt run at that point its bad.

and use a test light to the plug and see if the relay is actually sending power to the pump. i've had a relay click but didnt send power

Ok, just checked to see if power was going to plug, and it is. Then tried to activate with a 12v battery, and it did activate the fuel pump. Would I have a possible ground issue?

Could it be ignition switch? Switch is activating the relay, but the fuel pump wont go.?? I am at abit of a loss, any suggestions would help. Thanks..
I give up.I need a printed out wiring diagram to read.Big one!
Is your yellow grounding block burned at all?

Ok, just did test in diag mode. The yellow light flashes in the 1 second intervals(5 times). But the fuel pump is not doing anything. The ground block does seem to be abit burnt looking or melted. I thought i recall seeing a topic on this somewhere. Is there some kind of an update that can be done.?? Thanks very much for the help. Very much appreciated..
