I try to put it in reverse and the light just blinks and it won`t go unless I pick up the back of the sled and drop it. then when going to forward it does the same thing. sometimes it will not go back to forward and I have to shut it off and restart it to get it to go. just guessing but could it be belt deflection?

no, i feel you have to rock the sled back and forth, if you get good at it you can do it w/o anyone seeing you do it.

Shim kit and new belt at your dealer should take care of it.

Your belt has to be at least level to git it to work. I put my belt 1/8" and lost reverese; so if I want to use it I have to moe the secondry by hand.

i think he means that worse case senrio if u cant get it to shift in to take ur side pannel of and just give the secondary a twist back and forth till it pops in.

Exactly.. .If you can't get it to engage by rocking the sled back and forth or lifting the rear... just pop the back of the secondary and it will jump into gear.

Low idle and a bit more snug on the chain tension got it for me. Always stopping with the hand brake helps too.

Sorta fixed mine by readjusting the chain tension. It has to be loose or reverse won't engage easily. Basically, I turned the adjusting bolt just until I started to feel resistance and then backed it out 1/4 turn.
Now, 90% of the time, it will shift into reverse. The other 10%, I either had to give a bit of throttle, jump up and down or, once or twice, lift the rear. I think it's when there is some binding in the driveline but I haven't pinpointed anything specific.

Whilethesled is runnin, need reverse, and can not get it to engier by rocking or jumping. I will rotate the secondary by hand to take presseur of the reverse gear. Let it go and it will engage.BombaPolaYama said:marpolsdofer said:Your belt has to be at least level to git it to work. How the heck could you get to your secondary clutch without removing the side covers???
marpolsdofer, have you tried adjusting your chain? Try leaving it looser and see what happens.

Thanks.

you have to remove the side covers. Mine is set for preformance only. I have looked over this led with everyangle in thepast 2 months to get it readyto race in a limited budget. 08 with GS belt, no shims, set at 1/8 above (hair more)= no reverse with out Fin it. + side- no engine braking and if ther is barly noticable, smother shift and very quick, lot better top end on deep snow.

Well, I was talking CHAIN tension, not the belt.
