09 gt Marginal wheel kit at curve?

Was researching and told the bearing fail pretty quick. Not sure if this is the way to go or not because of the small wheels

The bigger the wheel, the better. Those low snow kits are really small so I don't think they'd hold up too well if you like going 100mph all the time. I have them on both of our Phazers and they've been doing great so far this season with over a 1,000 miles on them. Keep in mind this is at a leisurely 40-60mph, through the woods trail speed.

The other thing is to always pop the seals out on new bearings and make sure they actually have grease in them. I've personally seen bearings with little or no grease at all. They don't last too long ran dry.

12k miles on my small wheels. The key is to check them regularly and grease them when needed. The Excel wheels are great choice to add with these wheels.

Good to hear yours have lasted. I too have read a few horror stories about them but decided to give them a try anyways. Grease in - water out seems to be helpful to bearing life I always figured.

Alot of times lots of people don't want to do extras. When I get new bearing I fill them up with Amsoil racing grease. Seems like I never have any problems then. Most just use regular grease and that will not last long. By doing this never had to replace bearings. Never understood why bearings needs replaced. I guess I now know what I am doing works and keeps on going

Ditto for greasing however, maybe for the money, it might be worth it to go with Dupont slides instead? Those wheels worked great on my MP and the Phazers, when maintained, however my GT came with the Duponts. About double the price but basically a "set it and forget it" deal. Haven't seen any complaints here about them.

marginal snow wheels need to be re packed every season for me. have some older sleds that use them on the track support in the tunnel and they need to be done every year. occassionaly one piles up and flat spots the wheel but have not lost one ever. just wish they still made the aluminum wheels for them still as i found the bearings last longer between re packing with them. phazer has 15000 km with them on it. my old rx is at 16000 with them on it.
