09 Phazer reverse issues

Ok finally go the belt in and that didn’t work. I am going to try the shims now. When putting the clutch back together. It appears A1 is stock. Do I have to turn the helix at all? Or as long as it is lined up with Hole A and hole 1 it is good?

You'll have to rotate the moveable sheave to get the ramp on the helix past the plastic buttons (45 degrees if I recall correctly for A 1. Its been a while since I've put together a stock phazer clutch) before pushing the helix all the way down. I suggest using a new snap ring when re-assembling.

You have me worried. I don’t have any plastic tabs and not sure how I could turn the helix. I can try and upload a video if that would help. Thanks!

There are little plastic "buttons" that go in the moveable sheve next to the letters or numbers.

I had a video posted in the FAQ but it was hosted on photobucket and is no longer available. I've been unable to find the video as it was a while ago.

I don't have a stock phazer secondary clutch anymore to be able to take another video, my clutch is different now. Have a look through the FAQ for the post called "phazer secondary clutch assembly" there are also written instructions. Hopefully that helps. If you need clarification on anything don't hesitate to ask.

It has been a long time since I've opened a phazer secondary clutch, so I'm pretty rusty haha.

Ok Thanks. I will look for the plastic buttons again. I have an 09. So I am wondering if they are no longer there. I have the spring in A1 and will rotate it 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Waiting for the new clip now.

First thanks for all your help. I added another shim and the belt started screeching. Took the secondary back off remove the shim. Put it back together and same screeching. Am I not twisting the clutch enough when I am putting is back together?

I was able to figure it out. I wasn’t twisting it enough before pushing the helix down. I twisted it a good 1/2 turn. Once I’d that everything is back together and running good.

And reverse?
