2017 Sidewinder LTX-SE. 11750 miles (SOLD)
Hey guys, looking like we gonna have some winter this year!
So I dropped a 1" track into my 2022 Sidewinder. Wondering what everyone that runs a 1" track is using for studs. Brand? length? I like gold diggers and stingers, but open to other brands also. Anyone running the oversized heads(single ply track studs in a double ply). Running a double ply 1" and open to running the bigger head studs. Will be running doubles and singles. Trail riding 99% of the time. I have a full load of triggers and angled backers for racing/lake radar. Looking for feedback on trail studding. Going either 1.325 OR 1.450. I do not want pull outs or bends. Obviously running rocky conditions will effect durability. Also not looking for why you would never run a 1" track, as its already on the sled and going to run it. Im leaning towards the sno stud >Big Shot XZP Single Ply Track Stud. I do have a pile of woodys gold diggers 1.450 I run in 1.25 tracks. Not against running these in a 1" track but slightly hesitant on the length.
Thoughts?
Thanks Jon

I run the INS Hornet studs. They break off before they pull through. They also a little narrower profile.

I have never had pull thru with SnowStuds Big Shots, Run them on all my sleds. Must be torqued properly, then set over night torque again and then after 200-500 miles one more time.
We runs them in single ply or dual ply tracks, it dont matter. Highly recommended.

I got 144 of those Hornets in the wifes catalyst RXC. First time trying them. They only have 250 miles on them so to early to tell. But they are lighter then a gold digger for sure as I scaled them. More aggressive then a gold digger IMO also.I run the INS Hornet studs. They break off before they pull through. They also a little narrower profile.

Take your pile of 1.450 and sharpen on green wheel to a point like a lead pencil. And install them in your one inch track with plates you have.. They won’t hook on ice but will hook good on hard pack trail.. They last pretty good and you save a lot of cash.. Gold diggers typically wear similar to how you would sharpen them this way.. I made a simple jig that holds the stud as you rotate it against the grinding wheel..Hey guys, looking like we gonna have some winter this year!

Going with the INS hornet/stinger 1.69 total length. The gold digger 1.450 is 1.89" total length. I do not think they will be as durable as a gold digger/or snowstuds but any of these narrow profile studs/stingers/triggers/lake racers are going penetrate better but be less durable IMO. Time will tell as I have the INS in another sled also.
EDIT: The INS hornets i received are 1.79" Total length. Should be good bite on a 1" track
