I stopped at my friends dealership today. I was very impressed with the new cats. I was surprised to see the 1000 has a similar panel, pod removal as the Apex. It's a little easier than ours. I didn't see that mentioned in the magazines.

The number of them blowing up isnt impressive its really scary.
From what I'm understanding most of the engine problems developed after the owners had put on the new D and D Y-pipe and the air box mod as well?

As far as I have seen for myself that statement is a lot of internet hype.Sort of reminds me of all the junk we read on the net about the four stroke yammi's that we know is not true.
Although I hate to admit it I am currently doing some work for a local cat dealer. THe twin spar chassis so far has been very good with only two F8'S coming back for minor complaints. I know of several F1000"s with the d@d mods that are performing very well including a friend of mines.

yeah i've witnessed three of them go down, not to mention if you read other forums you see the same complaints about them burning down. Also someone here mentioned on the weekend they were in musoka and one went down. I'd put my money on there being a lot more in ontario than what you've seen in manitoba srxtwins.

Where I ride I hate to admit it but I have 3 buddies with 1000 cats, and all over 1200 miles and the only guy whose sled has been in the shop for warranty is mine, the Phazer has been in for 2 weeks. Those cats are strong and seem to be able to handle continual wide open riding cuz these guys ride stupid fast its all fields and rivers.

oh gawd...the fit and finish is a step backwards...the plastics are worse than any ATV I have ever seen. You can see the moulding lines on the outside...they scratch real easy. In 4 yrs they will look like 15 yr old atv plastics....
Shame on you AC.

btw...how many yrs has it been since the first Tcat? And Cat is still making them just as HEAVY!! :o|

i have also heard the fit-finish is not good if i was an f1 owner i would hesitate to hold her open but then again it's under warranty

Can't we all just get along. Lets stop the bashing guy's. TY has a good rep as being a site with out bashing. Junk or not who cares.

I almost took a engineering job for AC years back so I'm not bashing. I saw thier torture test track they use in the summer, some of thier R&D facilities, etc. They put a lot of engineering into making a fast lightweight sled. They make no bones about it they don't care as much about fit and finish, or 20,000 mile durability for the entire sled. Go or blow is something right out of one of the engineers mouth when I was touring the facility...

You guys quickly forget all of yamaha's growing pains throught the year's. Srx Cranks, SX Crank bearings, don't even get me started on the 03 RX1's. Its a first year sled, they will have issues. Not to long ago there was nothing but complaints on here from the Appex and attack guys. Or the first year Mono. I am not sticking up for AC (I have never even considered riding one. Yamaha since pre 87 stuff) all I'm saying nobody ever gets it perfect and if they did there would be no need for any other snowmobile.

And Yamaha has made them even heavier.
