11800 rpm (to high?)

All phazers come with the 17 tooth from the factory, dealers install a 19 tooth if requested. Going from a 17 to a 19 on mine didn't drop my rpms at all. Backing the secondary spring off 10* from B1 to A1 dropped 150-200 rpm off mine though with no ill side effects. Under 3000 feet it should have 13.9 steel In both holes if not more. Mine has 500 mile on it now and at 1500 feet I'm pulling 11800rpm bottom to top with the secondary in A1, and 12000 in the stock B1 position. On a stock sled under 3000 feet I think the 18 tooth is the best gear to run, it doesn't have enough power to shift out the clutches 100% with a 19 tooth.

I just went for a test ride, and my problems are solved! I got the 17.2 rivets and put them in the inside hole with the stock weight still on the outside. Droped my rpms from rev limiter to 12300 down to 11500 avg. I could get 11800 maybe a little more on icy spots but it definately pulls harder now that its not in the limiter. Under normal hard acceleration not WOT it was closer to 11000 high 10s which is very different from what it was, it was all or non throttle before feeling. Now I think I will put my secondary back to 50%, where my sled had 60% stock, currently at 40%.

Thanks for the help!!!
