All phazers come with the 17 tooth from the factory, dealers install a 19 tooth if requested. Going from a 17 to a 19 on mine didn't drop my rpms at all. Backing the secondary spring off 10* from B1 to A1 dropped 150-200 rpm off mine though with no ill side effects. Under 3000 feet it should have 13.9 steel In both holes if not more. Mine has 500 mile on it now and at 1500 feet I'm pulling 11800rpm bottom to top with the secondary in A1, and 12000 in the stock B1 position. On a stock sled under 3000 feet I think the 18 tooth is the best gear to run, it doesn't have enough power to shift out the clutches 100% with a 19 tooth.
