to op, the shock needs servicing at that milage.
sounds like it has the stock springs on the rear witch where too heavy for me and i weigh in over 250 lb. i put the 09 nitro xtx springs on it with the hygear spacers and 5 position muffin works torsion spring spacers without doing the star kit. huge improvement in the ride. it rides so well now that care_bear has taken it over and i am trying to get a 16 to ride as well.

They do appear beefy. Getting full weight transfer by maxing out the preload on the center shock helped. What year Apex?

ok. i just measured the stock springs i have on the spare skid and they are 3/8". other sled is in trailer and ice covered.
Thanks. That validates I have a stock spring. Why they're so beefy is beyond me since sitting position is forward from where they're mounted. I should see what my buddies 08 are, bet not near as stiff, but he has the mono suspension too...

mono suspension uses a coil over shock on the rear. the rtx apex used torsion springs but i am not sure they fit on the xtx suspension.
