'12 XTX suspension advice...

Well almost 200 miles in UP the last couple days and the sled rides better with the Nytro springs, hygear spacers and adjustment blocks on soft, with clicker all the way out. Will invest in the Star kit and shock re-valve over the summer.
Picked up a lakeffect +4 riser on my way up, will get a new seat concepts seat before next season also.

glad it is riding better for you.

transfer is at least 50/50 with you sitting on it i hope.

putting the set of refreshed shocks into the 11 for the weekend. should be able to get some riding in this weekend.

Trails are holding up? Heard at one point it could get toasty this weekend. I bailed and went south, down to the Gulf.... Where's my beach ball? Lol

Has anyone that has installed the 1200nm Nytro XTX torsion springs gone back to the stock 1500nm springs? I have a 12 Apex XTX with the Star suspension kit, revalved shocks, center shock spring upgrade, and the Nytro XTX torsion springs. About 500 miles put on it since all of those mods were done. Never rode it in stock form. I find that even with the torsion springs set to the 4th location on the Star 5-position adjusters, it will still bottom out on bigger bumps. Rear shock is good. I weigh about 185 undressed. Considering swapping back to the stock 1500nm torsion springs.

That was my problem with the ‘11 XTX I had with the same upgrades you have. The 1200 nm torsions weren’t quite enough in the big junk but the 1500’s were too harsh unless I was really flogging it. We weigh about the same. In the end I built an EPS Ape with a 137” Mono II skid and am much happier overall for typical trail riding.

That is what I did and thinking of going back to the Apex springs now. I asked Colio, who I got my Nytro springs from, that did the same and then did the star kit, and then went back to the Apex springs with no response from him. I do have the Hygear spacers also installed, and I think since on setting four on my BOP blocks I need to go back to the Apex springs. I weight 185 with gear on also. If you do let me know how it worked out?

I don't ride this sled much as it is our backup sled so it could be a while... maybe even next season before I get that far. I've only put about 200 miles on it so far this year (likely another day of riding on this this weekend). I spend more time riding my 17 Sidewinder. I have put 1150 miles on that so far this season.

i am planning on putting the rs venture mid blocks in on mine to help with the bottoming. no star kit but the new nitro springs i just put in this season are acting the same as the ones i too out with over 15000 mi on it.
