I dont know how a 13mm bar can make the sled more dangerous? If you like the sled half tipping over in every corner vs 1-2" of predictable ski lift with the 13mm bar?
Different strokes for different folks, other then the effect of reducing the independant suspension slightly going down a straight trail with un even moguls the 13MM has been a positive in every other aspect of riding.

The funny thing though is that when I put the 13mm bar on I experienced unpredictable ski lift. For me going into a corner at any speed was downright scary. The outside ski would bite in and the inside ski would come up 1 - 2 feet in the air. I don't experience that with the stock sway bar.

I just leaned harder and the sled could fly through corners (DISCLAIMER test course was on my land and my design with no women or kids around, in a remote test plot where only snow monkeys live)

I too get that weird unpredictable ski lift but its more on lake runs on crusty snow.

13mm sway bar on our 2008 Apexes made the sled so much flatter in the corners. The apex in my opinion is soft on the corners and creates inside ski lift unless you adjust the rebound firmer from stock on the clicker shocks. I don't know how people drive one with out having this adjustment. Once you dial the rebound in it flattens out but with the 13mm sway bar I was able to soften the rebound a bit more and let the sway bar manage the roll. I installed the 13mm sway bar on our 11' apexes as well. Power steering or not, I expect the body to roll. I also installed Ohlin's on the 11's too

welterracer said:alot of the tippyness feeling you guys are running into be because of the shitty yamaha skis.. Install some skidoo pilot skis and the 13mm swaybar and it will not be tippy at all
Do the ski-doo skis just bolt right on, or how do you do it?

Another question i have since i opened this can of worms. If the front has to be sofend up so the A arms are level, will the shocks bottom when ditch banging? I do some ditch banging and mostly trail. but when i have to bang, i bang lol

Good shocks with proper valving won't bottom out. Especially the front ones.
Now don't anybody get there undies in a bunch for my saying this, but most people don't bottom out their front shocks unless they're standing on their front bumper jumping up and down.....

I was going to say I have never bottomed out my front shocks! I would like to meet the guys that do!

I have. Got caught off gaurd by a large clump at edge of trail at high speed ... WHAMMO I'm pretty sure my right float bottomed.kinger said:I was going to say I have never bottomed out my front shocks! I would like to meet the guys that do!
On the topic of ski lift, my experience has been that there is a big factor here that no one thinks about. how much is the track biting? I found more ski lift when i had picks then without. When able to break the track loose a little = minimal inside lift. Don't forget, ski pressure isn't only about shock pressure. There is plenty of tweaking to do with skid adjustments. I love my 13 mm bar and my floats (soft as to keep a-arms flat). Last note... I think most of us agree. I would rather have a little ski lift than push across my side of trail. A little ski lift only means you're getting a good bite on the corner!

@Raypex: Absolutely!!
The greater the tendency for the thing to try to keep running in a straight line, the more the front end will misbehave when trying to steer!

I have to say compared to my friends attack my 2007 apex gt does corner very well and most of the times the skis are planted down on the snow.
Once in a blue moon i get a violent shock when one ski grabs in a weird way and comes up in the air.
The greatest thing ive added to this machine was the snowtrackers.
A arms lvel to the ground, and 96 studs up the middle . Also i think i tighten the limiter ? or maybe lossen it up ? Cant remember but she quite firmly planted on the ground now.
