14 APEX Vs 13 APEX SE

Going to be purchasing one of these sleds tomorrow. Price is the same for each machine.

Anyone care to share your experiences with either?

If the price is the same then i would always go with the newest model.

The 13 is black, the 14 is candy red... all my gear is blue and black (like I usually am after a hard day's ride)

Can anyone comment on the difference of the front suspension between the two sleds?

I am partial to the Black sled but the 14 will retain it's value longer if you only plan on keeping it a year or 2?

In 5+ years give or take, neither year will make much difference on re-sale.

I have ridden both spring over shock and floats and personally prefer the floats. For the same money I would go with the SE

I am also partial to the floats, I have had them on every Apex I have owned since 2006 and the fact I currently ride a 2011 SE. But I will say even though I like the black color very much I really love the red Yamaha has out but all and all I think the floats and megafloat would make the better sled all around and if you really want the sled just ask the dealer to switch out the red and black plastics thats what my buddy did when he got his SE in 2011. Just a thought.
