17' Jackshaft Upgrade

I've done a couple 16 vipers with bearing failure.
I highly recommend going with winder setup.
FYI, to all 14-16 Viper owners, if u ever hear a strange noise coming from chaincase area, stop driving.
If u damage the inner case it adds a lot more expense.

My wobble bearing 2014 have 21354km and is top shape, but my top gear bushing is shot,I install prevost performance top gear bushing and change all bearing in same time

I am currently working on a 2014 ZR7000 that needs a complete chain case. The customer wants to upgrade to the newer style top bearing. If I were to get a complete case from a 2017 and up, then I would also need the upper shaft?

Yes you need the complete jackshaft

Thanks. Finding a complete case is proving harder than I thought.

I will call Monday. I would like to find a complete case, guts and all.
I have an email to BOP also, I like to support site sponsors when possible.

Could the 17+ shaft come from a CAT 9000? I know the secondary clutch is different, but not sure about the splines and shaft.

I am not 100% sure. I hope it the same splines, it would make life easier.

It seems like the clutch splines are different For Cat 17 and up.
I am going to use the stock shaft and 62206 bearing and spacers to engage the clip.

Would using the 62206 bearing eliminate the need for a spacer using the 17 shaft in a 14 chaincase?

I upgraded my ‘15 to the 17 shaft setup about 2k miles ago. I was originally planning to do the same as you’re talking about using a 62206 bearing. In the end, I just used the CAT 6206 instead and found a couple of 2mm thick snap rings that worked perfect for the spacers.

I see no reason the wider bearing wouldn’t work though.

I got everything back in place and I don't think the wider bearing will work, there is no room to place the washer and circlip that hold the bearing from sliding on the shaft, I'm probably going to have to pull my bearing now and track down the spacers and circlips

When I installed a Sidewinder jackshaft in my 2015 Viper, I use the Sidewinder bearing in the chaincase and used 2 circlips as spacers. I used the 6206 bearing in the chaincase that the Sidewinder uses but needed 4mm worth of spacer. The circlips in the link below are 2mm thick so 2 of them gave me the thickness that I needed to make up. McMaster-Carr #98455A384

I'll try to find something similar here, I also need to double check the clips and washers on the shaft and make sure I have all the right ones, I previously thought that I did but today when I had a chance to work on the sled realized I was mistaken
