2005 Jan New York TY Ride

Sounds great to me. Do you want to say 8:30PM? I am thinking I will come in Wednesday morning and then ride to Friday night or Saturday night if the conditions are good. That way, since everyone is within a couple of hours, we can save one night in the hotel, plus meals. How does that sound?

Ok - Lets say 8:30 Sunday Night in the chat room.
I was figuring I was going to come in EARLY Wednesday morning also so we can be riding be 8 or 9 whatever you decide.

LETS RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Figured I had better chime in. Snow is still coming down, plowed once when I got home from Utica. Will have to plow again in am for sure. Latest update is 8-14 total. It looks as though the hill should get 6-10. We already had snow though, three local clubs all groomed this past Thursday. Dana, don't forget Viperman is in on the ride too. We can ride numerous different trail systems from my house and never see many of the same sections twice. I will be out all day Sunday, will post trail conditions. If I were you guys though, I'd call the Three Bear and make reservations now(trail goes right by the front door). If they get booked up, I can give some other numbers for places 9-15 miles away. We can always ride the hill later in the season when the conditions are better.

Well, I will miss out on the chat tomorrow, I'm in Syracuse now and won't have access to the internet tomorrow evening. Looks like we're going to be heading south. Dana, I'll try to give you a call tomorrow sometime durring the day. The weather just showed 5-7" over most of the area and 11 in boonville. It is definately wise to avoid the hill this coming week/weekend as with the first 'big' snowstorm there will be tons of traffic.

Corey

Corey, I will look forward to you phone call. Can someone give me the number to the 3 Bear Inn? Also, does anyone have a number for HONK and THE HRD? I would hate to have them show up somewhere else. Everyone knows they are our entertainment!!

Dana, The 3 Bear Inn Number is on the 1st page of the "Southern Tier NY Ride" Thread. The Number is 607-849-3258.

You can always send Honk and HRD a PM and see if they contact you that way.

here's the results from yesterday:

Sounds great. You got to love the pink area as where we are going. I would say that graph is spot on. We got 10-12" and that's what the graph says. I will talk to everyone at 8:30 tonight. I just hope that Dave has not taken up all of the powder until we get there.

It is always better to stay in the pink.

Have my reservations for the 3 bear, Thursday and Friday nights. I'll probably be heading there by myself, so if anyone is interested I can split a room. Looks like we'll have a good group of guys.

How many people are planning on staying Saturday night to ride Sunday?

I'll probably stay for the whole weekend Corey. I'm there, got the sled, there is snow...MIGHT AS WELL ride my azz off. It makes pefect sense..hahaha. I might take you up on the room-split on Saturday night, if the offer is still on the table. As I am rooming with Dana the other nights (Weds, Thurs, Fri) and I believe he is departing on Saturday, after we ride. However if the riding is good it will not take too much arm twisting to get him to stay through Sunday. Should be a good time. Hopefully the groomers get out to compact the 1 foot of powder they just got.

Dana, I called today and booked a double room Weds-Fri, so we are all set there. LEEEEEEEEEEEETTTT'S RIIIIIIIIIIIIIDEE!!!

Man, This is looking SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!
I got my room reserved, but just for Wednesday night. I have an appointment on Friday, but maybe I can come back on Saturday and ride with you guys some more. It's only a 2 hour ride from home, so a day trip is not out of the question.
See ya allz tonite.

Well, I gotta tell ya the riding was great. Rate it a 9 out of 10. A few fields at the tops of some hills had alot of snow blown away and a few sections in some woods were a bit rough. Some other places we were into so much powder ya couldn't tell where you were at. Expect the groomers will be out by Tuesday night. Still blowing hard and alot of drifting. Hit some truck trails that had been groomed and I was in triple digits, had to wait awhile for my old man to show up. Get much over 50 and I'm losing him. Got in 120 miles, spent over a dam hour at the breakfast, they were really busy. If the Three Bear is out of rooms here's another to try. Point Motel in Whitney Point(nine miles) 1-800-966-4451.

I hope I have a room, because my wife called early today and they said I didn't need reservations as long as I was there before 6.00 pm. I will have her call tomorrow to make sure everything is alright I guess. I will be there for wednes day until atleast friday. Looking forward to riding with ya'll again. Taking litle red devil for a ride tomorrow soon you guys will have two of me.

Hey HRD  . Glad to hear from you. We were worried you might go to Montague Inn since we hadn't heard from you or a couple other people, for that matter. Regardin the room @ 3 Bear, I was told the same thing by the girl at 3 Bear when I called. You can secure a room with a credit card. That is what I did, to be on the safe side. See ya Wednesday.

Dana, maybe you can make an updated post on the TY ride details for the upcoming week. I dont want to hijack the thread on you like ol' Boomer! hahaha
