bought used apex over the summer and issues already , leaking RH heat exchanger, broken front pivot arm in rear suspension and I'm needing help with suspension set up. What is the stock limit strap set to? I can't find anything on stock set ups. Also what is the transfer control rod ? It's like flat, just slides in and out , no pressure normal? Thanks , anyone have service manual?
The heat exchanger leaking is a some what common issue. Previous owner may have been a stand up rider and flexed out the boards cracking the exchanger. The exchanger is easily replaced new or used.
I would get a set of tunnel stiffeners to help prevent the exchangers from cracking again. I use these on mine. http://www.muffinworksltd.com/products.php?PID=3
The front pivot arm always break. Its a weak design. You can either fix it and beef up the weak points or replace it with an '08 or newer arm.
I believe the limiter strap setting is the second hole from the end.
The transfer rod is the shock looking thingy that sits near the bottom of the suspension parallel with the track. It clunks as the suspension moves thru it travels. Very noticeable when travelling on low speed bumps.
Setting the transfer is like this; The more thread showing the more ski lift you get. If you are lucky enough to still have the factory tool box located in the trunk then you should have the transfer rod adjustment tool inside.
More info can be found in the FAQ under Suspension for setup details http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/apex-attak-frequently-asked-questions.42869/
You can contact Travis from Barn of Parts for a heat exchanger and a stronger pivot arm. http://www.barnofparts.com/

Greta thanks, great info and great website you linked. So that transfer rod is slop? I didn't get any adjustment tool with it either. I also notice wear where the pivot arm attaches is there a fix to that as well. Once again thanks a lot , it's summer and there someone out there that can help.

Lots of great info in here. Should find a link to service manual too.

That transfer rod tool can be a pain. Just get a large set of channel locks.

The tool is good for measuring the baseline gap setting on the transfer rod.
Adjusting with large channel locks or a hammer and drift work much better.

and yes it is just suposed to be a free moving joint not a shock at all just a limiter on transfer.
Yes, kind of. Its the amount of delay before the suspension couples up. Works the same as the two transfer rods that your Pro Action Rx1 has. So again, the more the threads show the higher the skis will lift. I run mine at "min" transfer to keep the skis planted while accelerating out of the corners. So that transfer rod is slop?

Post a pic of the area that you have concerns about.
