What are we going to do about accommodations for Friday Night? I called the Montague and they are all booked for Friday night. I plan on being there Wednesday night, so I'm going to start praying to the lake effect gods, the jet stream gods and any other gods that can give us plenty of white magic in the next 2 weeks.
Charlies ain't open on Monday/Tuesday Booma. Call 'em tomorrow.

Cancelled my reservations at Charlies today.
Sure hope we can make some plans for someplace else for that night.

I just wanted to post info regarding Friday accomodations, since Montague Inn is booked that night and do not have rooms available. I made myself a reservation at Le Hav Motel in Lowville (315-376-2721). Mind you, it is not as nice as Montague but they do have rooms available. Single room $35/night and a Double room is $40/night Cant beat that!! The motel is about 10-15 mins from Montague Inn. The motel is right at the intersection of Route 12 and Route 177. So for those still looking for accomodations for Friday 2/3 you might want to give this place a call. Otherwise, see you all at Montague Inn on Wedsnesday February 1st at 10AM. Let us all now bow our heads and pray to the snow Gods.

Last I knew Tuggers had cabins to rent. Believe they are $60 a night. Not too far from Montague, can ride the sled.
Dana told me the cancellation window for Montague Inn is 5 days, so if the TY ride has to be cancelled, you would have to call up Montague by this Thurday or friday depending on what your first night of reservation is. Why don't we all go to the chat room this Wed, Jan 25 at 8:00 PM and hash this out. Looks like the Hill could get some good lake effect late Tuesday into Wed. morning before it swings south. Could be a little rain or snow this weekend, and then some possible lake effect early next week. Right now trails most trails have snow on the main part of the hill, but are in tough shape. I got 3" of snow this morning at my house, but the Hill got very little. CHAT this WED. at 8:00 PM. Give me time to log on, I only have dial up at my house, and my connections are slow. Gordon

I tried to get into the chat room last week and it did not work. They seemed to have changed the format. Maybe it was me.
After our chat room get together, the popuplar consenses is to keep the ride as planned except the overnight bagger trip to Charlies is cancelled. So if you are staying Friday night you will have to make reservations somewhere else besides montague Inn because they are full for Friday night. Check some previous posts and there is information on a couple places. Remember we will ride from Montague Inn on Wed. Feb 1. at 10:00 AM. On the other days we will be leaving at 9:00 AM. Please post what days you will be riding. I will be going all 4 days, God willing. Lets have a good turn out and a good time. Gordon.

Tug Hill Report
I rode from my house up to Tug Hill today. Penn. Mt finally groomed. Lee center trail from West Branch to west Lyden was Excellent. West lyden to High market was Excellent this morning, by late afternoon it was down to Good. The main part of the hill was still bad in alot of areas, but some trails were good. Plenty of snow. I was eating over in Brantingham, and was told by a couple of groups that Old Forge had their trails in great condition. Put on about 150 miles today. Had to be back early because I had to be at work by 5 PM. The Tug Hill forecast looks like this for the next few days. Friday- sunny, high-32, low-(-5): Sat-partly sunny, high-36, low-15; Sunday-becoming cloudy chance of rain or snow late, high-38, low-24; Monday-light snow, high-35, low25; Tuesday- snow high 28, low15: Wed-Friday, snow showers or snow squalls, highs in 20's, lows around 10. Hope they get the traisl groomed up for next week. See you next week. Gordon.

BBW - Will you be able to post any more trail info either Monday or Tuesday? Between your report and the Absolute Snowmobile report and the weather forecast, it really puts me on the fence for coming. If I was still in NY and less that 2 hours from the hill I'd ride for sure. But, an 11 hour roundtrip with the trailer makes me worried.
