2006 Feb Tug Hill NY TY Ride

Possible snow storm coming next Tuesday! Boomer, if you are trailering that far you ought to stay for the whole four days. The hill will be in good shape by the middle of next week I feel.

Glad the trip is going to still happen, Even if we have to wait yet ANOTHER year for the long-awaited bagger trip. Looks like the Hill will have great riding this weekend and the following week. Maybe the snow gods heard us...hahaha.

On another note, my planned room-mate is backing out of the trip. Is there anyone still looking for accomodations for Weds-Friday night? I have a bed available in a double room at the Montague Inn. Or if somebody had a room at Montague by themselves, looking to split a room to defray costs. Let me know.

Indy, I have a full plate and will have to make it another time. Let's try to hookup later in the year if possible. I hope you feel better.

LET'S GET A HEAD COUNT

How about a head count as far as who is still attending the TY ride Wed 2/1-Sat 2/4 (and possibly through Sun 2/5)? I would expect that those that were backing out would have cancelled their reservations at Montague Inn today or yesterday. Let's here it fellas...YAY OR NAY??

Boomer, RX1 Man, BBW, Monker, Dar6ren, Wrenchman, Yamaslob, RXL35, Yam182, Racer7x, Storm-Chaser, DaveyBoy, Hookman49, RedLineViper and for God's sake..where the heck is RX-136 (Larry)? What say youse?? Hmmmm, could HRD  or Honk be making a surprise appearance??...to be continued......

CJ (RXONE) I know you'll be there is spirit. See ya next year on the new Apex or Attak!!

I'll be there all four days along with Viperman(god he needs to get a new sled!) and Tim on his Nytro. We're all staying over in Barnes Corners at a friends camp. Anyone going to be staying at Tuggers? If so, we can all ride together over to Montague each morning.

Im shooting for Wed and mabey Thurs. ;)!
As of Fri afternoon snow off the hill toward Copenhagen/Carthage was thin.More snow is in the woods and on top of the hill.It was 45F north
of Watertown today (SAT).

BAD NEWS!!! After riding with Dave(friend) and Steve(NYSRXR) today, I got home and did some research on a couple weather sites and some NOAA charts and maps, and it looks like the conditions next week will not be as good as I had thought they would be. Looks like Tug Hill will pick up some rain on Sunday, and Monday. Some snow on Tuseday, but probably not much and only some scattered flurries on Wed. Temperatures Wed. & Thurday should be OK on the Hill. Probably upper 20's to about 30. But Friday and saturday may get into the mid or upper 30"s. I'll update this again tomorrow night. I guess what ever credibility I had as a Meteorologist has gone out the door. We did ride 130 miles today, mostly south and east of Tug Hill. Conditions were so-so.

Yes I was up Saturday also, the riding was fare in the morning,But buy afternoon we run allot of bare spots to get back to the truck, the traffic and warm weather really hurt the trails, then sunday they got some rain, I think I will pass unless for some chance we get some snow on tuesday. WE CAN HOPE SNOW ( but have been doing that all winter)

Count me out! :moon: I don't see how there could ever be anything other than mud, snirt, ice, bumps and pain at this point. It seems to me we would need an immediate deep freeze followed by at least 18" of snow to begin to make a decent ride.
Just not worth my time at this point. If anyone does go, please let me know. I'll give you my cell #. If it really is better than it looks now, I could be up the next day.
Good Luck!

We're not coming up either. It was 51 at five in the morning going through Syracuse today! It ain't that warm going in on the motorcycle during April for god's sake. Looks like MAYBE we will get some snow on 2/5. If it amounts to anything I'll just take a day or two and ride then.

It seems that everyone has backed out of the ride. Is anyone still going? If so let me know, so I can be there to show you around. If no one else is going then I probably wouldn't worry about getting there by 10 AM. I will probably ride anyway. Tues should have some light snow and cooling into the mid 20's by midnight. Wed should bring some more light snow with temps into the low 30's. Thursday and Friday should be basically cloudy with a few snow showers and temps in the 30-35 range. Saturday does not look good with either rain or wet snow. Take care and if anyone is still going let me know. Does anyone want to go to Canada later this year, say mid March for a Monday-Saturday stay? I stayed in St. Come last year. Nice place and better centralized for multiple trail rides then St. Donant, or St Zenon.

I'll still be going, as planned. My room at Montague is booked and too late to cancel. I will be there, at least, Weds and Thurs, possibly heading out on Friday moring, depending on conditions. If there is snow, I will be riding. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a snow miracle over the next 24-48 hours.
