So I have a 2009 Apex with the side mounted shock adjuster. I removed the suspension to replace the exhaust and also had to remove the adjustor cable going to the shock to get the suspension out. Now that I have my suspension back in I am going to install the cable back onto the shock so I can adjust my shock as needed. How do I know if the dial on the side of the tunnel to adjust the shock is in sink with the shock when I put the cable back on. Other wise is the dial is turn to soft how do I know the shock is at soft setting? Also does anyone have the part number for a replacement cable and a location to purchase it from?

I removed it. After 17000 miles I have replaced that stupid cable every 4000 miles. What I have done in the past is look at the dial and turn the dial full hard and watch the rotation of the cable and then take a small flat screw driver or a square drive and turn that in the same direction on the shock as far as it will go and then put together.

Do we a part number for a replacement cable

Barn of parts sells an adjuster knob that goes directly on the shock and eliminates the cable all together. I installed it on my apex and it works great

He also sells the cable if you prefer to go back to a cable.

if you don't move the knob on side adjuster or the adjuster on shock they shouldn't move position. Just screw cable back on , good to go

My cable came off on its own, discovered when doing my doughnuts and y-pipes a few hundred miles ago so shows you how often it is used to even notice it. I reconnected the cable however not in the correct zone of the trim ring, but knowing which way is softer and which way is harder works for now until pulling skid this summer to inspect bushings and will correct then. Also need to send shock to cannondale for rebuild.
