2010 Yamaha!!

Is that the new Apex or BNG Nytro?

If it is only bold new graphics, those are quite bold.

I really think a higher HP inline 3 would be a good idea for the top dog.

But my guess would be a crossplane crank 09 r1 based apex.

I'll just talk out my arse here for a minute, but Yamaha loves to use parts they already have, correct? So could it be possible to put the YZF 450 jugs on a Phazer to make it a 900 twin four stroker. This would give you a power to wieght ratio that not many other sleds could compare to. Awesome tourque, guessing 140 - 150 HP. Turbo's are expensive and the repair bills can be more. WE are Yamaha and we are the leaders in the four stroke. Why try to follow the competion? They need turbos, we don't. Ski-doo is trying to follow yammi's lead and the rest throw on a turbo to race to the catch up. Also the R1 motor works, where is the R6. Yamaha has more possiblities than we can imagine. I'm just as excited as everyone else is, I'm sure they won't let us down, they haven't yet.

Yamaha addressed this questions in a magazine and stated that the counterbalance needed to keep vibration down on the 900 twin took away a lot of its power.

But if you change the firing order in relation to the crank like Yamaha did on the Phazer and Nytro(correct me if I'am wrong Thx) you eliminate the need for a counter balance shaft altogether.

Lots of speculation here... too bad that the 900 twin required a large counterbalancer to tone down the vibes. Funny, the FS/FST engines that Polaris have in their lineup use a huge counterbalancer to smooth out the 750 twin and it appears to be a decent 80hp mill. Heavy, but it has good power.

I am not a fan of anything bigger than 3 cyls. I owned an RX-1 for 4yrs and although it was stone cold reliable, it was too heavy. Yamaha is going in the right direction with the 3cyl EFI Nytro engine and if they continue with normally-aspirated engines of less cylinders they will continue to gain ground. A bigger twin and an entry-level 4-stroke single would be ideal as lineup bolsters.

We don't need another 4-cyl anything.

Agreed, the 4 cyl is a great engine but they won't use another bike engine, it's history.

I heard from a non Yami guy that they ran into the test riders in WNY a couple of weeks ago. No details other than it was called the Enticer. I'd bet on the 100+ upgraded Phazer. I'm hoping it actually has a seat!

That what I've been dreaming of. My thoughts are a Nytro 130FI engine with a cylinder removed and a bit of tweaking to make a Twin 700cc 95-100HP engine with NO GEAR REDUCTION bolted in a phazer chassis. HELLO Exciter 4 stroke.................... But alas, only a dream.........

As a parallel twin, it is inherently out of balance, and pretty much needs a counterbalance.

Now if they make the a V twin 90 degree one, then it will be in perfect balance with no counterbalance required.

But they wouldprobably need a whole new chasisi for that, and yamaha has not made a v twin anything since the 80's? The closest would be a vmax bike, with a v 4. Now that would be nice.

I have a feeling that yamaha will use existing bike motor "parts" on new sled motors, but won't just drop a bike mill in without major surgery. Like chop 1 cylinder off of an existing FJ1300 motor and throw it in. They have done that on the vector. Or take 2 yz250f pistons and make it a parallel twin like on the phazer.

Pure blue BNG LOL :jump:

Ditto..... Right between the Phazer and Vector series and below the Nytro !

The handlebars look very narrow.

I believe Yamaha bars are about 1-2" narror then the other OEM's. But, they seem narrow to me... Even my Apex is like that. Not sure why they do that. It takes alot more leverage and movement to turn them.

I think it might be to keep them from bending when u lay it over so the panels are out farther. Just my idea.

But i dont know why they would be on ur apex i can maybe see that on a sno x sled.
