Hard to tell but im sure I have a problem with my powersteering as it not only feels heavier to steer but the "EPS" light is on underneath the clock. I am away from home and dont have a service manual to even begin searching for a problem so if someone can chime in that would be great. It has been outside in -30c temps and im wondering if thats the problem. Im almost thinking there is a fuse as well but if someone could give me an idea where to look it would be extremely helpul way out here. The eps comes on once the fuel pump cycles, stays on, start it up and it dissapears for 2 seconds and then reappears. 2200kms

There is a 40.0 A fuse for the eps. (right side engine cover beside the key/starter)

I looked on the Yamaha U.S.A Site / parts and services / view owners manual on line
page 79-80

I dont have a service manual hope that helps ,somewhat

I put it in my garage and tore it apart, where the eps ecu is in the front cone was completely packed along with the connectors with snow. Some heat and drying time as it running just fine

I had that on mine too.it had been realy cold fore a long period.took Here inn over night and prob solved!

From reading this topic and some other similar ones it sounds like this is a common problem. You would think that Yamaha would have designed the system to be able to withstand cold and snow since snowmobiles sometimes encounter both. LOL!.

Use some dielectric grease on those connectors and you will probably not have this trouble again?
I used it on every connector I could get to, it's great stuff ;)!

I forget who it was now but someone called me Capt Yamaha on FS.

I try to help where I can, I enjoy it and like to pay it forward as everything I pass along is info that some others have taught me over the years. ;)!
