Last year like others have said my fuel relay froze up and sled would not start.
Took it out and put it in my pocket for 5 minutes and then all was good.
Since then I have bought a few as spares and take them along in case, but wondering if there is a fix to this besides what I am doing?
Thanks...

There are 4 relays located together above the left footwell. I'm not sure though which one is the fuel pump relay.

Are they still doing that?
Man that goes back to the 06 Attacks when that started.......thought that problem went away as Yamaha changed those relays in 08.
It's the 3rd one from the left i belive, I moved mine to the far left so when it was cold and if it didn't work i could poke it with a screw driver through the grill rather than take it out.

YES THEY DO! Not always 3rd from left but usually. Feel the relays when u turn the key on and it is the 1 that clicks.

I put a red zip tie on the fuel relay. So just in case I forget I won't freeze trying all 4. LOL

I have never had this problem on my '07 Apex and I have ridden in below zero temps on many occasions. It must be a quality control issue with only some poor quality relays being produced? I guess that I am just lucky!

never had a problem both with my 2007 Apex and 2009 Nytro... both have started at -30c

If they were purged and sealed in nitrogen there would be no freezing issue.

I think the problem is the constant heating and cooling which causes moisture to get drawn into the relay.

Not sure if the '07 and '11 have the same color wiring, which is probably the better way to identify, rather than position of the relay in the row of 4 relays. My fuel relay happen to be the one furthest to the right (towards the tunnel).
Wire colors @ the Fuel pump relay on '06-10 Apex/Attak is Red/white, Red/green, Red/blue, and Blue/red wires (4 wires total) . Here is a shot of the relay schematic from the service manual.
And ditto...never had an issue with my'07. So guess I am one of the lucky ones!

It's happened to me 3 times, usually when it's usually below -25C.

X2 with my 07 Attak. Hope it stays true for the 11 SE as well.
