2012 Yamaha's

Skidoo has videos of some of their new stuff too, primarily the new rear suspension for 2012. If you watch the videos, you can see the new 2012 sleds they are riding. They look good !

Its all in the Economy, it really depends on how Yamaha THINKS the economy will look next fall. If they think quite a few people may be looking for a new sled next fall I'm sure they will introduce something pretty good to capture that market. The also have done a GOOD job at clearing out old stock, not many leftovers at the local dealers. If they think its going to still be stagnant they will just toss out a few refinements and BNG! Seriously though, the Phazer would be in its 6th model year and it REALLY needs to get at least a decent warm-over with a touch more power, 09' nytro geometery tweaks, new look, or a tilt front version.

they have to try and think 3 years in advance to launch something new, they cant just decide to be innovative 365 days before the next launch

What I was told by the Honda motorcycle dealer we bought from back in the '80's was that at least for Honda they had product ready to go three years in advance...this was at the time MX bikes were starting to make huge advances in their technology. I would bet that Yamaha has all of that if not more (maybe 4-5 years out) technology sitting on their shelf. A guy I have started riding with is part of a family that owns several Yamaha dealerships in SD told me that Yamaha had turbo setups for the Apex that they were going to sell as an accessory much like they have done for the Nytro, but they didn't meet their expectations so now there are hundreds of these just sitting on shelves in a warehouse in the mid-west.

Those superchargers are sitting on the shelves with all the skis yamaha didnt think were good enough to put on their sleds, right next to the viper pipes they thought no one would want, four isles down from the boxes of larger idlers and crates of unbreakable W arms.

Could not agree more.. ;)!

What I heard was Yamaha bought into the Diamond Drive system and will be putting them on the 2012's. I hope they have better luck than Arctic Cat did with it.
