2012 Yamaha's

Maybe it's possible to lock the front somehow? Then it could be driven like a normal phazer. Looks very interesting (and heavy). Check fig. 19, interesting suspension on that photo.

One thing to note is that last year Yamaha did not put out a 2011 Rhino. Due to people suing them or what not.

But the Rhino still sold, I'm sure they got rid of all their old models.

Maybe Yamaha is taking a page out of that book, no 2012 till they get rid of all the old stock....

Like I mentioned before I think with the depature of the bravo 250 from yamahas line up you will see a new sled in the 300 range.... To compete with the tundra, and replace the bravo ( they can never replace expicness) On a off chance maybe a beefed up pz50mp to kinda step into the vk540 void......... But I still think yamaha is in the forfront of 4stroke tech..... And I know they have something unreal up their sleeves to release in the next few years :yam:

The Tundra is not in the 300 range anymore - I believe the smallest engine in the Tundra now is the 550 and the 600 Ace. The Tundra has evolved a lot since the Bravo and Tundras were introduced in the 80s. The Bravo has stayed basically the same; that must be some kind of record for body and engine style longevity!

Yeah, unfortunately they stopped producing the 300's I think two years ago (we had to drive 500 miles one way to find the last one at a dealer in the upper midwest.) The 550F is the lightest, cheapest Tundra they still make (and the dry weight on that is about 40 pounds more than the 300 was), and you add another 30 pounds to get the Ace. I'm severely disappointed to hear about the "loss" of the Bravo, because I literally just learned about them like two months ago. My office currently has two of the 300's, two of their 800 4-stroke tundras (gigantic fairly worthless pigs IMHO), and two of the new 550 fans. I'm trying to convince some of our departments to look at the Venture Lites for work equipment (the guys that do lake sampling and creel surveys) but nobody makes anything in the same league as those 300's were for a work machine in the woods. A 380 pound $6,000 dollar one cylinder machine that doesn't have enough power to make it fun, but can get through a ton of snow -- PRICELESS!!! The big 4 need to address the huge gap in age-class specific machines as well. My 6 year old is entirely too big for his z-120 now (he's tall and gangly) -- whats he supposed to ride for the next 5 or 6 years?

A short track Bravo would be a perfect fit for him but I think they were discontinued a few years ago.

The VL is a good work machine when it comes to hauling and cargo capacity but the deep snow flotation would be an issue. Better skis helps but the rear still sinks like a ton but it wasn't made for deep snow. The MP in Canada has a 16" track which should help a bit.

I looked at the new Tundra 550LT at a ski-doo dealer last week. There was no tow hitch and no supports in the entire length of the tunnel(check out a ET410 or ventureMP under the tunnel, lots of metal supports). One good pull on a sleigh and goodbye tunnel :o| .

still can´t get over with all the people who wants a phazer engine in a vector chassie ???:exc: i mean if they want to compete with the 600 ace , why move the small engine to an even heavier chassie?.... wouldn´t that increase the foul consumption? :drink:

On the latest sled blog CR stats that they will give dealers a introduction to the 2012s online before we get to see them.I think there is some new technology coming(supercharged nytro?Tilting front end on phazer?Direct drive?).

well i´ll be disepointed as hell if they come out with a phazer with that design :( probebly gonna weigh tons, suck in the powder, and destroy the reason that most people choose the phazer for. ofc i mean that they are cheap :yam:

Here a sample screen shot from the above link....

If you look closely at the patent diagrams and read the descriptions you'll notice that the front suspension is able to be unlocked and allowed to pivot around the centerline of the sled. This would allow it to lay over while still keeping the skis in contact on both the uphill and downhill sides of the slope. Very interesting!
I would like to see a more powerful and lighter Phazer That doesn't cost an arm and leg. I think this would fill in a huge gap that Yamaha has.

mean leaning machine

Taken from the patent:

"The swinging member 32, to which the upper end of each of the left and right shock absorbers 31 is attached, is capable of swinging in the left-right direction relative to the vehicle body 1. As a result, the left and right skis 5, 6 move in a cooperative manner so that when, for example during a left turn or a similar maneuver, the left skis 5 moves upwards relative to the vehicle body 1, the right ski 6 moves downwards relative to the vehicle body."

"As described above, the suspension mechanisms 7, 8 according to the present preferred embodiment allow tilting of the vehicle body 1. However, when the vehicle body 1 is allowed to tilt excessively, a problem occurs in that, for example, a foot-placement member 19, 20 or an element or portion of the vehicle body 1 may contact the snow surface. Moreover, it is preferable in terms of convenience to prevent the vehicle body 1 from tilting while the snowmobile is parked or during mounting and dismounting. Accordingly, there are provided a tilt-stopper mechanism 48 arranged to restrict the tilting of the vehicle body."

Oh yes... This means that we will see Yamaha making a machine that will lean inwards when cornering, but also is possible to stop tilting.

I don't know if they will make it but at least they have the patent for it.
