It was fun!!!I just assumed the way the 800 clan talks he would have blown us away..even at lunch about 15 min before the video was taken. we were discussing sled insurance, and his is $30 less than ours but we are insuring two sleds..He said no offense but i make about 30 more hp..and no offense was taken because I do know the 800 makes more hp than a nytro..and his sled is lighter, and his sled has better traction..so i thought he would get us on the line and pull away..I agree he doesnt have a good reaction time especially since we were going off his head bob..I would think he would have had an edge. I just think the wife did pretty good, she has about 500mi on her nytro and she came off a phazer, other than her exhaust the sled is stock with just some add ons to make it girly.. she did pretty good and even gave me a bit of a run in one of the vids.. I guess why I am so surprised is I hear alot of talk how an 800 will dust a nytro even a modded one..But i also agree on any given day any sled can beat another..

If you do race a viper make sure to do a longer race, because I think vipers get out of the hole better than nytros do.

From what ive seen that's not true..the nytro holshots the viper every time. and actually the nytro in stock form will just about holshot everything. the chasis itself is made to holeshot. I think the viper is a sweet looking sled and it probably rides wonderful...but the nytro xtx is much faster. a viper is like a really fast 600 maybe 700 two stroke. a nytro is more like a 2006-2009 carbureted 800 two stroke. and from what we all have seen here acutally faster than the new poo pro r 800. Yamaha was dumb do dump that sled, took all those years time and money to work the handling bugs out of it then they just dump it....dumb

I agree that it was dumb of them to discontinue the nytro, they should just have put that race front end on it and it would have been awesome.

I got called out by a Pro R 800 this weekend at a trail sled drag race on the lake, I was on my 06 Apex GT with studs and a Clutch kit. He was telling everyone the only way he would lose to an Apex was a race across the lake. We lined up for a 660' run, I got him right out of the hole and beat him by at least 5 sled lengths in 660'. I was actually worried he would have me in a short run, after that he kept running down the lake and never came back. Chalk another one up for the good guys!

I wonder if that's an xtx? that makes a huge difference. I got on this site before I made the jump to Yamaha. Asked for advice and everyone told me to get the xtx(even the guys that had the shorty) glad I listened! The red viper I ride with loses to me every time. but if they ever come out with one that's boosted from the factory ill be all over it!!!

I'm wishing I had an xtx, Big time!!! But I came across a deal I could not pass up on my shorty...I get so much track spin on my 121" its ridiculous..I have been thinking about extending it over the summer..128" or 136"...

Yeah the xtx nytro does hook up better then the shorty.
