Hey everyone
I was out this past weekend and my viper jumped out of gear on a straight away in deep powder going across the lake, came to an immediate stop and launched me over the bars. First I thought my chain had blown, but after a quick look over I figured out it had jumped out of forward. Of course it was late Friday afternoon and we were riding in remote area. I got ahold of the local dealer, and explained the issue, and found out that I need the reverse actuator recall kit, so I have that on order. My primary concern is that the day before heading out, my reverse actuator began to act up, it seems to run longer than required while shifting in and out of forward/reverse, causing it to strip the plastic gear. I have watched the videos on how to re-clock the gear, but I’m wondering if there’s something else going on here causing that motor to run longer than it should, what are others experiences with this issue?
