low slung said:As for the Nytro sno-cross skid it was designed by Randy Karpik(FAST fame). He was working for yamaha snocross team(guy knows his s**t).Got a strong feeling people(with untrained eyes) have seen the new 2014 yami sled thinking its a cat.
Heard a rumor that a Karpik (not sure which one) is involved with the design of the new sled for 2014. That would be very good news!

It was the same when the rx1 came out (i coulndt throw that thing far enough
Btw that is exactly what hygear told me. So true

^ why do you think yours probably is a night and day difference with a setback 121 to make it a 128.
everyones first thing is its steers bad and its in the front but its opposite how much contact does the rear have vs the front
step back look at how a nytro sits on a level surface nose down
take any other oem look at what angle the front nose is in relation to the ground level or even upwards
its all in the rear geometry intially then front end geometry takes over under loading and unloading of the front suspension

The skid in its stock locations transfer way too much. It makes it impossible to get the sled to handle without compromising the ride quality. The set back with a longer track is a good improvement. However, that's only going to get you so far. The stock geometry, whether '08 or '09 still sucks. The a-arms mounted off the bulkhead at 90 degrees cause too much weight to be carried right over the skis. Yamaha knew this, had front ends that corrected it back in '08 and is using the 4th or so generation of this front end on their XC sleds for racing. To have not upgraded the consumer Nytro with this minor change is completely unacceptable. The whole front end is modular in design and an improved one could have simply been bolted on which would have made for drastically better handling. Yamaha choosing to not make minor upgrades to their sleds is why they are firmly in 4th place with sales.
Hopefully 2014 will bring a new sled and a new corporate attitude towards performance and keeping up with the other OEM's. If not they might as well close up shop or just focus on building snow going versions of Gold Wings for the high milage, groomed trail rider. They do have that market segment covered very well.

AKRIDER I am truely get sick of your opions. All you ever do is bad mouth Yamaha and how shitty of a job you think they do. Im glad you sold your Nytro. You dont deserve it. You can ride whatever you want when ever you want. I dont care. May you have many miles without a blown motor, oh never mind didnt that already happen! Really sick of your bashing,go somewhere else. I hear HCS is a great place for people like you. We come hear to talk sleds, Not listen to you cry cause you couldnt ride a Nytro.

I has a chat with my dealer today. He said the all new Cats will have Yamaha motors and all Yamahas and Cats will be built in the US Cat factory.
By 2015 Cata and Yamaha will be the same just like GM & Chevy.
He had no new info on new sleds.
I would assume we are going to the cat suspention tweaks.
He also had to sign up as a Cat dealer.

However crazy this sounds it makes a lot of sence. One of yamahas biggest issues has been losses due to currency fluctuations. Moving production to the US is important so they can shift productions based on profitmargins (like the car industrie)
