2014

It looks funny, but it also looks real... Wonder where it originated? Seems like a photo they would put in the catalog

Sure looks like a Pro-cross to me. It has the vented nose cone that the turbo 1100 uses. I'm stoked if this is true! Finally, finally a 4-stroke Yamaha that will ride and handle properly.

I'll play their viral marketing campaign. You can view the pic on our club's facebook page.

So will you be ordering one and leaving Polaris for it?

I would likely sell my IQR and buy one if it has a Nytro motor and Yamaha clutching. I loved the power of the Nytro 4-stroke motor, that it burned cheap gas, used cheap belts and the motor was reliable. I can't say the same things about my IQR. I'll keep my RMK for the mountains. Four strokes just aren't light enough to be fun for playing in the deep snow and climbing in technical terrain. That Viper will do what I want it to do for bumps and XC racing. Glad I monitored this thread as long as I did!

i think its fake!!!! cat skis...cat brakes....

It would have Cat skis and Cat brakes... because Cat is building it. I would expect the only component in the sled to be Yamaha is the engine... and if we are lucky the clutches... and if we are even more lucky... Chain case and drive shaft. Otherwise it's a re-badge. A good looking one I might add.

I sure hope Yamaha will remain committed to their Deltabox II sleds however. I think there are still a lot of trail riders who want a real Yamaha. I would assume BNG for the DII sleds next year and who knows maybe Yamaha will give us some new flagship models to go along with the re-badge.

I also hope that Yamaha has deployed engineers to the factory in TRF and is watching over the entire building and quality control process. It needs to be built like a Yamaha should be built.
