Been a few times now the fuel pump won't run when it's -15c or colder, need to remove and warm up. Trying to find the correct "no freeze relay" part number to replace but seems hard to pinpoint which one I need. In Canada would be my preferred choice. TIA

On the same note, when searching on google, it seems Yamaha are the most popular for relays freezing. Anyone know why? Don’t think Yamaha makes their relays. So why mostly Yamaha, I’m sure other sleds use pump relays.
Seems it’s a 4 pin NO relay.

The older "classic" Yamaha FI sleds had an issue with fuel pump relays freezing at -15c, which was remedied by a new "red" solid state relay, #8GN-81950-00-00, which was issued around 2010. However, having a later Cat bodied sled, you might not be able to use this relay unless you make some modifications. And if Yamaha learned from past experience, should have used a solid state relay, which I guess they didn't and used Cat's relays. Looking at a parts microfiche, they only list two relays; one 30A 5 pin (which I would guess is for the headlamps) and five 20A 4 pin for everything else. Looking at a picture of the 20A relay, 8JP-H2189-00-00 (first pic), looks completely different than the red one for the older sleds.
Why do cold relays do this? My guess is that battery power is lower at colder temps before the engine starts and the mechanics inside the relay are stiffer when cold. Before the new relay, some would warm it up by holding it in their hands or getting some heat on it.

This is exactly the reason I created this post, I saw the red relay and thought that won’t fit my current fuse box. So in the end, nobody makes a 4 pin non freeze NO relay in your opinion? I guess I’m stuck with keeping one indoors when it’s colder.

Correction, it was issued in 2013 for the 2014 model year.

Try swapping it with another relay. Maybe it's just worn. Did a quick search and it seems the Vipers also get this problem.
Is it your fuel pump not coming on or it's not cranking?

Fuel pump not coming on, I put a hair dryer on it for about 10 minutes and the pump kicked in. I was thinking the same thing, maybe warn. Any way seems like there’s no “freezer safe” fix so probably just pop in a new one, as long as it’s a normally open relay. TksTry swapping it with another relay. Maybe it's just worn. The mechanical relay being used is "Flux sealed" but there is an option in this series for "Sealed type washable" which I would think is more suitable for snowmobile use. The relays being used in the Viper have a manufacture's part number 303-1AH-C-R1-12vdc for the "Flux sealed" and if you replace The -C- with -S- so the part number is 303-1AH-S-R1-12vdc then you get the "Sealed type washable".
The shift relays are a single pole double throw unlike the other five in the fuse box that are single throw. The two shift relays are larger rectangular shape with 5 terminals so they can't be interchanged with the other square 4 terminal relays. The OEM relays come as "Flux Sealed" and can be replaced with relays that rated as "Washable".
Square relays, 4 terminal:
ISC (main relay)
Fuel
Fan
Headlight
Tail (lighting relay)
Original Part# (flux sealed): 303-1AH-C-R1-12vdc
Replacement Part# (washable sealed): 303-1AH-S-R1-12vdc

Reverse shift

Replacement Part# (washable sealed): 301-1C-S-R1-12VDC

If you look at newer vipers/ sidewinders they have a different part number for the relays than the old (2015) vipers. I assume the new relays is the sealed relays
Yamaha part numbers:
Old part number 8JP-H2185-00-00
New part number 8MS-H2189-00-00
