2016 Models

If Yamaha had something new for 2016 Apex we would have seen it by now offered demo rides on new platform. The core is hungry for a new Apex & done with the Viper as not fast enough to please many that bought them. I wish there were more 2015 Apex xtx 2015s sold so I could pick up a used one which means that 15s will hold their value not good for the used market buyers...oh well...

Never before announcement. It is next week and the SneekPeak tour dates have been announced. It will only be a matter of time, that Yamaha will announce demo ride events after the announcement next week. February 25th at 11am CST.

I'm not holding my breath for a new Apex seems like Xmas never comes.lol

I asked Pat's (#2 in Yamaha sales) how many 2015 Apex's he sold....just 4 this year. Only what was spring checked and they ordered no extras

To expand on this statement I made about Pat's only selling 4 Apex models, talked with my buddy I go to Michigan with today......I wasn't in on this conversation but apparently that is all they could get. I think Yamaha did not make many Apex models this year.........is that another sign it's going away?

I'd bet it's more that the Yamaha analysts see how many they've built and are selling and not selling. They then adjust production build qty's to projected market demand. Yamaha has been backing off on total production numbers for the past several years.

According to Chris Reid's blog, I remember him saying that the Vipers outsell their Japanese built sleds 1 1\2 to 1.

Looks like a BNG vector and a bigger viper to hold a bigger engine...maybe the pics just look that way.
Looks like the Vector is still with us and the Apex and the Phazer are gone. The flagship will be a turboed Viper and the Phazer will be a smaller engine Viper. I think the 4 cylinder is gone!

Agree can't tell if Vector or Apex & looks like fat Viper which maybe of interest to Viper guys but not me. I put miles on a Viper deluxe & no Apex XTX by along shot ...XTX so much more refined than Viper.

If that is the case I'll be keeping my 2012 Apex XTX a long ...long time.

I believe you can see the vector decal on the hood. Makes sense.....same way they phased out the RX1 chassis with the Nytro/Rage for a couple years after the Apex was released. The fat Viper could be a horizontally downsized image.

Despite a lot of complaints with the Viper...they are selling a ton of them. Apex sales and availability are next to nothing in 2015. Partly because they are so reliable and being phased out. Look at Yamahas history of how they phase out/in models.....it all makes sense.

If Apex is gone.....good luck finding a holdover.
