Yo! - so just got done replacing bearings on the trihub, 4th wheel kit and the 2 front idler wheels (made a post about that a couple days ago) but all went fine for the most part. Sled only has 2300 kms on it but pulled the seal on a couple of the old bearings , and glad I replaced them - very little lube in there.
Anyways, for tension and alignment. I didn't have the scale handy (its somewhere in my tackle box, that's also "somewhere") to do the 15lbs tension and have 1.5-2" drop. So I just measured the sag in the middle with the arse end lifted and at middle of skid I have about 1" sag. Am I good-ish there?
It was a slight PITA to align and I agree with all the other posts about this, but got it almost perfect and went with measuring the distance of the outer 2 rear wheels to edge of track. Both the same.
Now, and not sure if the sled did this previously as I just picked it up last weekend, but fired it up with rear lifted a few inches off garage floor, and the track spins under idle by itself in both forward and reverse. When planted its definitely not wanting to take off or anything. Belt adjustment or just leave?
Also getting this clicky sound. Just wanted to make sure this is normal for these. My apex and phazer didn't/dont make any noises. I'm suspecting its just the clips or whatever bouncing off the sliders but not sure. Dupont slides, not studded.
Here's a crappy quck vid trying to capture the noise. I can redo the vid if needed in few min if required.

Everything your experiencing is pretty normal for a viper and nothing to worry about

For Track tension, I just raise the back off the sled, if I can put my fingers between the track and the slides then it's good, as for the clicking sound that's just the clips hitting those wire guides on the front skid arm, it's a trait of the uncoupled xtx/btx/mtx skid
