Looks nice but less travel I presume? Low windshield good for photo shoots only, not great for riding unless it's 32 degrees or more. One inch lug and studs don't do much in the UP of Michigan with the LES sugar.

Well I'm sure they will still offer plenty of models that might work better where you ride and the windshield can be replaced with a tall one. Of course they are going to show it with the sporty low windshield... It's an SRX... It's supposed to put sporty style over function.

Okay, the (Thunder) cat is out of the bag, and Yamaha's big news is a re-badged Sidewinder in spring order only "SRX" (i.e. bold new graphics). As gorgeous as that beautiful blue sled is, I hope that Yamaha has something NEW to reveal on March 6th!

Me too ....SRX is pretty blue but I could care less not for trail riding. I sure hope more than this!

I just don't get it, doesn't matter what YAMAHA does some of you are not going to be happy like I said before your apex and out of date technology is long gone. Do you really think they or even CAT are going to dump a bunch of money into r and d on a completely new chassis and suspension with the way the winters have been. There isn't a lot of people out there that are going to spend that kind of money on something new no matter what it is and only be able to ride it 2 or 3 weeks a year. Why do you think there is so much concentration on mountain sleds (always snow in the mountains) some have not purchased new machines in years there is a reason and it has nothing to do with what kind of models YAMAHA has out there. If you wanted to purchase new machine an YAMAHA doesn't offer what your looking for, go else ware and get what you want and quite ragging on YAMAHA. They have gained a lot of new customers with the sharing of the ARTIC CAT chassis so losing a few wont be the end of the world I don't think. All this stuff is my personal opinion not trying to offend anyone but some of this stuff on here drives me batty.

I'd love to see a 3 cylinder fan cooled 4 stroke. Put it in compact rider forward chassis. Retail if for 8k and i think they would sell tons of them.

Yamaha can’t sell what they don’t bring to market and I didn’t read anyone ragging on Yamaha only hoping for more since no official release yet. Sure it takes R and D money we all know that. You think the SRX is the best Yamaha can do that’s fine with me... I think it’s a cheap way out to a very small market. I would like to purchase an Apex xtx replacement in a new lighter platform with eps at about 150 hp. I also think many of us have been waiting for something other than the SW and Viper and a chopped SW =SRX is a joke to me way short of the mark of new releases. I also would not encourage the Yamaha faithfull to depart to other brands because doo may not be far off attracting lots of apex owners with their 150 Ace turbo. I know I can’t ignore it too close to Apex specs to not check it out.I just don't get it, doesn't matter what YAMAHA does some of you are not going to be happy like I said before your apex and out of date technology is long gone. Do you own a Yamaha/cat partner sled?

And what would you want in this APEX XTX power steering really that's it what else. My VIPER steers as good or better than my 11 apex did with out power steering. A properly set up VIPER or SIDEWINDER drives and rides way better than any APEX, like I said before I owned several of them and you couldn't give me one after owning my Viper. I keep asking what it is you all want in a new sled and all I get is 150 hp and now power steering. I think that the new SRX is awesome and they are going to sell a bunch of them.

yamahaex50 yes I do 2014 VIPER ltx with hurricane 190 kit, I would have got a SIDEWINDER at the time if it was offered. I get sick and tired of all this talk about a APEX replacement if YAMAHA would not have brought the VIPER I would be riding a NYTRO right now no doubt but like I said before if you don't like what you see you kinda have to look else where.

I lov my eps! Makes the Apex xtx very easy to steer with Snow trackers. I just rode a Viper with triple points yesterday in the UP and the steering was much heavier than my Xtx with eps. What I asked for was a new platform lighter Apex replacement with eps about 150 ponies with NA engine if possible. Push button reverse super bright headlights and a high windshield. Handlebar rear suspension control would be nice too...I miss my Ohlin EC. I don’t mind if the Apex replacement is more rider forward I like SW seating position too but don’t need 204 ponies 130 to little. I have a riser on my Apex so puts me on the tank. I’m pushing 13k Miles so it would be nice to purchase a new Yamaha and start at zero. I have ridden Vipers and SWs liked the SW better probably because of the hp but missed eps big time on both Viper and SE. I don’t understand why both Viper and SW don’t use eps? I bet a lot of us would like that inclusion. And what would you want in this APEX XTX power steering really that's it what else. Fair enough. I own an LTX-LE winder, and used to ride an apex. So I see both sides of the argument I suppose. For me (and I suspect many other trail riders), I don’t need the 200 ponies as much as I thought I would, not to mention the belts and rollover valve issues, etc. but would love the apex reliability with 150 ponies (N/A is fine, relaible turbo also fine) that handled more in the pro cross form rather than the apex form.
