Yep!!! Textron is in it for the money not Cat pride, if Cat cannot show profits with their sleds its bye bye to Cats pride and Craig Kennedy, Cat has a hard time standing on their own two feet without some sort of support, the question is will Yamaha take over Cat, they have a lot of Cat chassis on the snow and they will require a lot of parts to keep them going, if Yamaha walks away how will they source parts, maybe Doo is watching. From a recent SEC filing:
Textron is in the third month of its restructuring plan that resulted in
product rationalization and the elimination of approximately 400 positions of Textron Specialized Vehicles’ /Arctic Cats' workforce, the closure of several factory-direct branch locations and a manufacturing facility. The restructuring actions also included the re-branding of some vehicles in the ATV line up back to Arctic Cat. However this plan has not produced the results that were expected in the operating results for these businesses. With that said we are looking at all of our options including the sale of the snowmobile segment.
It’s quite possible.

Breaking News: Yamaha purchased Coleman Skiroule, and the Sachs two strokes will be labeled 'Old tech II'!!
Honestly, life changes. My sw is a blast...power is always there, consistent, so I'm pretty happy to have one. Period. And still love my old apex too. Don't care what the others bring out....they have their own issues. Yesterday a brand new aussalt was looking for gas after 35 miles...whatever... I can play racer Joe powering out of corners all day...and still get a 120 miles out of a tank....what an awesome engine, bar NONE!!

Textron fired Roger Skime, Kirk Hibbert and Joey Hallstrom and replaced them with Textron corporate bean counters so you know the pride is gone. Cat snowmobile customers would be better off if Yamaha purchased the company. At least their heart is in motor sports. Textron is a shareholder driven conglomerate. They could care less. I know people that live in TRF and they say Textron has gutted the engineering staff up there. I'm guessing Yamaha is a lot more active then we think right now in trying to keep these snowmobile lines moving forward.

Funny, first sled new was a Skiroule RTX 447. Pretty cool when I got my 06 Apex RTX. Really wanted a 129 SW RTX to keep the tradition going....but LTX is OK too..lol."Yesterday a brand new aussalt was looking for pistons after 35 miles". Haha, fixed that for ya. Skiroule...id ride it

I have a couple of buddies that follow these companies like Textron which are profit driven, they say that Textron will eventually break up Cat and slowly sell it off, the sled division they feel will go first, also a tid bit of info... rumor has it CF moto has been lurking and asking questions in regards to Cat sleds, hmm, if CF moto took over the Cat sled division.. that would make them a Siamese Cat...lolTextron fired Roger Skime, Kirk Hibbert and Joey Hallstrom and replaced them with Textron corporate bean counters so you know the pride is gone. If Cf Moto buys Ccat and not Yamaha that’s when I jump ship back to Doo

Must have been something wrong with the assault, have no problem getting 120+ miles out of tank on my 800.. even riding at 70mph

The only speculation I have for 2021 is who will survive. Cat, Yamaha, both, or neither. At this point it looks bleak for BOTH. Strangely, compared to the last mass sled extinction period of '73, gas is relatively cheap and unemployment is relatively low. The 2020 thread has 175 or so pages of people expressing what they'd open their hearts and wallets to has landed ears afraid to be bold.

Yeah, sounded strange....they stopped us to see if we knew where there was gas as his said half a tank. Maybe he was trying to keep up with the srx..lol!Must have been something wrong with the assault, have no problem getting 120+ miles out of tank on my 800.. even riding at 70mph

Chased a sidewinder around last weekend, friend of mine was riding it. Mix of trails and lakes he was always $5-7 more at the pump. I could care less about the money but that is a gallon of fuel.. sometimes the difference between making or not making the next fuel station. The tank is too small on the winder/Srx. Hence why the new 2up has the reserve tank in the back.Yeah, sounded strange....they stopped us to see if we knew where there was gas as his said half a tank. Maybe he was trying to keep up with the srx..lol!

So I'm going to forget the whole 2020 release and start this all over again since I'm not buying a new Yami this year. For 2021 I'd like to see a 2 stroke mountain sled. It seems as if cat and Yamaha are drifting apart so I think Yamaha could have there own engine and do just fine. If they cant do that then how about an updated chassis. We are on year 8 of this chassis so we are way over due for something completely new or at least some huge changes to the current chassis. All I'm asking for is some real changes to keep the sport evolving.

Really?? Its to bad some of you guys are so thin skinned that you can't handle the fact that some of us are a little negative to the fact that Yamaha doesn't want to grow!Bye Felicia!
