And with the venom they said it was coe developed well then they should have released them closer together and Yamaha and ac should have released a statement saying such
Exactly! I think they hurt each other by not doing it at the same time along with a co developing statement if true.

Venom is cool, transporter 800 is cool, transporter lite is cool, the mountain max is cool, the Winders are cool, wish there was a Viper BTX, but I digress. The perception is widely that most of Yamaha's lineup is "all Cat" with Yamaha graphics. It is, for lack of a better term, grounding to see JMS describe the collaboration that took place before the products were released; whether the products can stand up to customer whims and the test of real world conditions remains to be seen. If there is no difference in the mechanics of the sleds, the question that I come up with is, why would someone choose a Yamaha over a Cat or vice versa? Is there enough of a difference in warranty to justify the price differences? I don't know. I don't know the business. It's great that Yamaha brought some 2 strokes out, and it's great to see mid sized sleds. Heck I might even hop on to the transporter lite or Venom since they are the size I am after.

Not sure how I really feel about this yet. Need to think on it a bit.

Yamaha did do there own ECU mapping on the mountain max 2 stroke which I was suprised

Not sure if this has been posted, the comment on the engine calibration is interesting. Would be interesting to hear Jaret comment on this...

Using the 998t in the Procross and calling it a Yamaha was barely acceptable. But a pure Cat chassis with C-Tecs under the hood being branded Yamaha is completely insane!!!

They are either using this to stabilize the business unit and build purebreds in a few years- Or they will just continue this way. I wish we could just get an answer!!

After all it’s a business that has to make money. If Bombardier could double profits from only supplying engines they would do so in a heartbeat.

The vaunted engine builder that prides themselves on QDR now puts their name on Arctic Cats!!! The Sidewinder looks so cheap next to my Apex it’s not even funny.

So what I got out of that video is Yamaha mapping is more spot on so that tells me Yamaha has been messing with this motor so is this something down the road Yamaha takes the ac motor and says now hold my beer and watch this

I absolutely love my Sidewinder. I had just as many issues with my Apex, as I have with my Sidewinder. To me, there is a difference in fit and finish, but not in reliability.
Having said that, I was really hoping Yamaha would bring something new to the table, even if it were just fixes to current issues. Just show me something that indicates you are committed to the snow business.

Painting Arctic Cat's Blue is a real kick in the nuts to the Yamaha faithful. The only way it is acceptable, is if news breaks that Yamaha has purchased the AC snowmobile business, or vice versa.

Well....a few things...I never think newer is necessarily better, as no sled felt right for me, so I had to tinker with shocks, skis, etc. The shims under the ski are nice, but I had a ski doo from the 90's...that had a sliding rib to add more heel or tip pressure! Ingenius, and what a difference it made. I recently added another shim in front of my left spindle, as it wasn't perfect with the right, pressure wise, and it finally steers easy and handles excellent...amazing what that little ski adjustment can accomplish. Too much on front and it'll dart, buts it's perfect. So kudos for making it adjustable, but doo had it long ago.
As many have said, I like the chassis...just need that peace of mind I had with my vectors and apex.

I just bought my 15 yr. old son an 04 venom this winter, he was excited when I told him they re-introduced the venom, not so much when he found out it was only 400 cc. What a let down- the kid in the video sure would be pumped to tell his friends I got a new 400cc snowmobile!
