You know, I kept my (06) apex in the heated garage. No more. I only heat them up and let them thaw thoroughly. The water and salt from roads rust stuff, but when its frozen, it doesnt rust!! Noticed this with my doos 20 years ago. But...if the temp goes above freezing, they get washed. I have very little if any rust since doing this. All relevant to what kind of conditions you CHOOSE to ride in! Salty roads? Rocks mixed into snow will chew up ANY skid, ANY manufacture. Also where the sled is stored during the season and off season.. Well ventilated is the key. Heated is best obviously

Yes I agree with you, however I ride with a couple of Doo’s in same conditions , same mileage and none of them looks like like mine. I’ve had my sled apart off season and skid repainted . So in my opinion fit and finish and Doo compared to Pro cross chassis in way better, probably best in industry. All relevant to what kind of conditions you CHOOSE to ride in! Salty roads? I still cringe every time I see somebody transporting a nice sled on a flat trailer without at least a salt shield. All relevant to what kind of conditions you CHOOSE to ride in! Salty roads? That would have been me way back in the early 80’s. Went from salt shields to enclosed trailers fast once I saw damage done by salt and sand from roads! It will really ruin a front end fast, but it also gets everyplace on a sled!

My sled it’s been transported and kept in enclosed trailer since new , so that’s not a case.I still cringe every time I see somebody transporting a nice sled on a flat trailer without at least a salt shield.

I went to the factory in Valcourt, got a tour..3 hrs!! Bought one of the first MXZs, still had a fiberglass prototype hood, but even in 1993, doos processes were impressive. They misunderstood me..I said I worked for GE, and they wondered where the rest were...lol..gave me a great tour anyway. Except one area..off limits...development!Yes I agree with you, however I ride with a couple of Doo’s in same conditions , same mileage and none of them looks like like mine. Sure, but doesn't change the fact that the rivets used aren't as good of quality as ones used by other manufacturers or the all Japanese Yamaha models. All relevant to what kind of conditions you CHOOSE to ride in! Same can be said about the painted steel parts on these machines. Needs to be better.

Yeah they’re a different breed all right they are Kool-Aid drinkersNo doubt. They are even jumping on Rockerdan for posting his findings.

You were pretty banged up also, sled can be fixed.. How is your health since that ? I remember it as everyone was all jacked up about the 17 sleds and how much HP they were pulling and the reviews were like "holly fu%^ this thing is fast!
