edited -Am i the only one concerned that neither 2 stroke turbo offered uses an intercooler? Can you say heat soak?
no intercooler that I can see, all work seems to be focused on cooling the turbo itself. They use this system in the mountains so I would assume it works well enough, and with heat produced being related to how much you compress, in this low boost application I assume they feel they have it under control.

Yes, I agree with your statement about the County. Their expansive, long, smooth, and did I say FAST, trail system has always been the demise of many of my past 2 strokes. And even with the Sidewinder, running 105 mph for miles upon miles on trail 105 (For example), leads to cherry hot exhaust systems. So yeah, cherry hot exhaust, hit a tree, gas oil and even anti freeze will ignite. So next season with the Polaris Boost and the County trails, all hell will break loose on those lonnnnggg runs! Very hard to hold back when you have and like, The Power!Mike is right.
First Poo 850 he hit a tree & it went up in flames. We couldn't put it out.
Next morning he had a new 2022 model.
Always good stories when we hit the County.

Yep, those County trails are Bigger then any sled made!

Be very interested in seeing how the Boost runs next year. I think Polaris has done a really good job with this Patriot platform. They obviously had a long term vision of what it could do for them. They planned 850, 650, 900, mountain boost, trail boost. Pretty impressive.
One thing I can share regarding my 850 is that they have been very conservative with their tunes. 2019 software was very safe and every year they have tweeked and improved. The '22s this year seem to run much stronger apparently than the '21s. I'm sure they will be conversative with the Boost as well and build from there.
A couple Fitch catalysts in my tank this year prevented me from any DET in 2500 miles even with questionable non-premiun gas once.

THIS is what Cat is lacking!! I would not own a Polaris but I respect this kind of innovation and forward thinking! They obviously had a long term vision of what it could do for them. They planned 850, 650, 900, mountain boost, trail boost. Pretty impressive.

This is a replay of the Mach z from last year … Yamaha motor Japan choses to run there motor at 200 hp ( easily could be 250 hp ) any other manufacturer is now after 7 years getting some what close to 190-195hp , and going out on a limb to cover warranty on motors . I guess it gives the others false hope they will beat the sidewinders sometime soon .. .lol

There's a reason the 2 stroke turbos are a 1 year model..ZERO LONGEVITY!!!They would go bankrupt on warranty repairsThis is a replay of the Mach z from last year … Yamaha motor Japan choses to run there motor at 200 hp ( easily could be 250 hp ) any other manufacturer is now after 7 years getting some what close to 190-195hp , and going out on a limb to cover warranty on motors . Lots of opinions and no real world riding yet. Guess heard this about turbo cat when it came out also. If it’s a dud it’s a dud and no matter what people will want them. They sold out quick.
It just might not be either
I agree that Yamaha can up their hp easily but I doubt they will? Maybe though?
Till next winter

At 3psi its not like they are pushing a huge amount of extra stress into the system. 2 strokes were never going to be long life engines so the reality is that anyone buying a P-Boost should expect regular new top end rebuilds.

Levi posted his informal tests of the boost in real world conditions against a current 850 VR1 with other riders taking it out for a spin. Hard to get much more real world than that.

I have ridden 22 vr1 , 22 skidoo 850 with electric shocks & cat 800 , drag race the vr1 is fastest 2 stroke by 2-3 lengths on the skidoo, After riding all the sleds compared to the sidewinder, only thing I would trade from all of them is the Polaris 7s display GPS only . The srx with power steering ( next year ??) will have everything else covered .Mine has two year

Great. I have a 998 going back together now with rods and pistons and head getting done. Maybe put mod stock or bigger turbo on it? Haven’t decided yet. I have xcr 850s also.
I have raced cats in cross country in past years also. The procross is a great chassis no doubt. The 998 motor is better than 1100 trail wise but with big hp it’s not.
I read stuff on here because there is some information that’s useful but other than that just opinions.
I wouldn’t trade my cat any day of the week over the Polaris unless we are going down to the lake to race. I think the boost will be there within the next year. Will it beat a built 998! Probably not. Most of the trail turd 998 with a tune yes. That’s not a knock it’s just the truth. There are a lot of crappy running 4 stroke turbos and that’s I guess what you see when you go to a radar run or drag race and the same sled with the same tune is getting beat by the other same sled by 10 mph or getting school bussed in drag race.
That’s my opinion and I also think there is going to be more work and a larger learning curve with the two stroke. I guess I’m saying maybe it’s a challenge.
I have both though so not too worried about it either way.
I bought Polaris last year simply for the 7s and was surprised how much I liked them after working the bugs out

They will only respond if it beats them on the lake. So it won't happen for next winter.Mine has two year

Yeah, its pretty brutal, especially considering how the chassis are identical, obviously they were not set up the same either. All I see in that video is ski lift ( Corning & straight) … lol I guess that’s good
